No, Toss cannot be done away with as it adds to the suspense and thrill.What can be done is to alternate the Toss winner after the first toss in case of even no of matches.In case of odd no . of matches the first and the last match will have to have Toss.This way the the Toss advantage or disadvantage can be shared almost equally.In regard to making of the wicket, the preparation can be standardized to the extent possible to make them a 'sporting wicket' as seen in the recent SLan series at SSC, Colombo wicket recently(3rd Test)
Too much emphasis is on media/match referees/and above all the foolish public, the game has become more scientific. gone are the days of sportsmanship and the real gentlemen game cricket has totally changed. better get rid of the game
