We are too much critical for our own players.
by Hindustani on Sep 03, 2015 04:20 PM

Why are Indian people making mountain out of a molehill? I know Ishant should have controlled his emotions a little more to avoid match ban.
But having said that, honestly tell me, how many times have you seen the macgrath's & Lee's or Johnson's or English Bowlers or SA bowlers were even warned forget fined or suspended for a match. I have seen more worst encounters or reactions outrageous behaviours from above bowlers than what Ishant did, then why they got away with it? just because they were not from India or Lanka ( or precisely - from third world?).
Even what you mentioned in the article is not always true. Are you saying Wasim Akram, Imran, Hadlee were not angry bowlers?, then you have either didn't watch enough of them or you are just saying it for argument.
The gentlemanly behaviour and goody-goody kind of attitude is not a responsibility of Indian cricketers alone but it should be observed equally worldwide, otherwise it's biased and unfair. We Indians are the most and unnecessary too critical about our own players, if you look at foreign commentators, they never even talk about their fast bowlers reactions, aggression sledging etc., even though they do it plenty but our commentators especially Manjrekar, Harsha Bhogle, sometimes Gavaskar are too much critical and always talk negative about our own players.
Our commentators, senior players etc. must first praise our players then only the world would respect them.

CONTROLLED AGGRESSION WITHIN LIMITS OK
by damodaran mohan on Sep 03, 2015 04:17 PM

I can't fully agree with Kishore Bhimani.Kohli is right in supporting aggression in Ishant Sharma as A fast bowler .However it has to be a 'controlled aggression' w/o resorting to verbal abuses, body contacts,'send off' of a dismissed batsman etc.As long as these limits are maintained there is nothing wrong.Kohli is a new but inspiring Captain and given his matter of fact way of dealing with his players I am sure he will be able to bring Ishant's aggression to within limits.

Seriously

This guy doesn't know what he is writing.
Such behaviour from others(read "angrez") is ok but not from Indians.
I am not endorsing what Ishant did but can't have different yardstick to judge as the writer advocates.

Too many pacifistz!

Come to think of it this was all a storm in a tea cup! What Ishant did was a spur of the moment action but he is singled out when 3 Lanka players got reprimanded fined and one suspendd. No comments there! All who criticize are joining aband wagon to beat a dead horse! All people are not Mabtma Gandhi to offer the other cheek!

Tempers run high during the game of cricket quite often and Aussies were known for it.They had even insulted Sharad Pawar on the presentation of World cup to them in the full view of cameras and cricket lovers. Why a small incident is being dragged this long?Take it easy even those involved in this imcident may have forgotton it.

Kohli and Ishant missed the bigger picture.

It is amazing how short sighted both Kohli and Ishant were. Both knew that Ishant faces ban for a test if found guilty for third time, and yet they couldn't control his anger. Their is no doubt that he bowled beautifully, but how they didn't realize that next test was in Mohali. Mohali is the ground which provides maximum assistance to pace bowlers in India and now the team's most experienced and successful fast bowler won't be part of the match where he could've made maximum difference. So sad. Got to say grow up Kohli.

SPOT ON bro! You just spoke my mind. In fact, the most obvious, why didn't they spare a thought for the Mohali test? With Ishant in, we could easily gain the upperhand against a tough opposition for a more creditable victory.

I'd still give the benefit of doubt to Kohli and urge him to learn fast. But you gotta feel sad for Ishant and India.

when Aussie Fast bowler McGrath repeatedly abused Indians especially Tendulkar on the ground when the latter dispatched him for a four?? I am not defending Ishant but why our Indian sports writer can't see a bowler from other countries such as Australia England South Africa etc bowlers throwing tantrums on ground abusing or insulting Indian players

Good for test cricket !
by Jai Singh on Sep 03, 2015 12:33 PM

These tantrums actually brought more interest in test cricket which otherwise becomes quite boring. Within limits these may be accepted.
