Only performance is the criteria for selection and Captain has no say, a big joke. See how some players are being selected match after match in spite of failure. Earlier said Ganguly gave me chance and confidence in test cricket and now simply ignoring him and giving credit to other captains (barring Dhoni though).

We all knew, Viru was no good communicator! I dont have anything about his views on MSD. Even great team require a great captain to win. Just recollect Llloyd's & Ponting's team under other captains. We also know it was Sarauv who was responsible for making some players like Viru & Yuvraj what they are today. In fact, Sachin should thank Ganguly for promoting him to opener's slot; else; number of centuries would have been definitely lesser!

In fact Ganguly was one who was jealous of Sachin and always tried to show equality with Sachin !! He in fact snatched Sachin from opening slot in South Africa World Cup, a place Sachin carved out for himself through years of hard work !!
