If India would have won the toss and selected to bat, then would they be able to score the runs in the excess of 350, forget 430?
If the pitch was so pathetic, as Shastri is abusing, then how come a newcomer like Rabada took 4 wickets on this SAME PITCH? How come the newcomer like Abbott bowled so economically on the SAME PITCH? How come Steyn took 4 wickets on the SAME PITCH? If their inexperienced bowlers could bowl so well on foreign soil why WE COULD NOT?
So DHONI AND SHASTRI, STOP GIVING SUCH NON-SENSE AND SILLY EXCUSES EVERY TIME WHEN YOU LOSE LIKE PITCH, TOSS, HUMIDITY, EXPERIMENTS, TEAM IS NOT SETTLED ETC., ETC. WE ARE FADE UP OF THESE NOW. Why our bowlers always like to play on a pitch favorable to their own bowling? They should learn to play in any pitch given to them. If South Africa can score over 400 runs in a pitch why can\'t we? That is the reason when we play abroad we come back with white wash. Shastri, please teach your boys to play on any pitch given to them. It is Cricket, not a made order stage.

Shastri was an average cricketer and not extra ordinary one. He was the most boring bowler not capable of taking any wickets with his ordinary spin bowling. He was a selfish cricketer only playing to keep his place in team. BCCI is also run by mainly politicians and appoint some selected chamchas like Shastri in important position which they don't deserve. He had absolutely no right to say anything to the pitch curator. Now let us see only tamashas of inquiry in the incident by BCCI and I am sure they will not take any action against their favourite Shastri.

But if we talk history about Shastri, let me say this guy Sudhir Naik can be termed a thief, who brough shame to India.
Although a spinning track would have been more helpful to India but let us face it the track alone not was responsible for the big loss. India played badly and so they lost but Shastri & co.do have every right to feel let down by the MCA curator not giving the Indian side the home advantage. However the ugly spat between Shastri and the curator could have been avoided because controversies and politics over pitches with curators/local cricket association and team management is nothing new , it happens all over the world. Generally pitches are prepared to suit strength of home side to give home advantage .To that extent Dhoni & co. playing with three spinners are entitled to have the grouse of getting unhelpful flat track. Incidentally even before start of the series Ajit Agarkar fired the first salvo against Dhoni’s continuation in cricket after his retirement in Tests. There have been other murmurs too because Dhoni is considered a Srinivasan’s man and once Srini has been shown the door the opposing faction led by Sharad Pawar/ Shashank Manohar wants Dhoni too should go. That explains the flat track provided by MCA to deny Dhoni playing three spinners the entitled home advantage at Wankhade where otherwise normally one finds a slow turning track. Now the main concern is this factional politics is going to hurt the Indian cricket in the coming one or two yrs till Dhoni retires unless BCCI takes control of the situation to end the factional fight

I don't understand why Shastri insist spin wicket, why can't fast track, why your bowler can maintained lenghth and line why can they find out weak points of the batsman, how much short pitch bowl bowled by the bowlers, on the same track how SA bowlers bowled

An totally ordinary cricketer can not inspire young and talented cricketers and by failing in his abilities, he can only ask pitch curators to prepare pitch according to his instructions.
Was never interested in building a team and all his success came through the hard work of previous captains like Dada,Kumble. Zaheer,Yuvi,Bhajji were the main reason India won lots of matches during early days of Dhoni's captaincy. After their retirement Dhoni is clearly struggling as he never gave chances to young talents and spent time behind failures like Raina,jadeja,Mohit etc. Current pathetic status of Indian team is mainly because of Dhoni-Srinivasan combo's misdeed of past
