Sheer audacity

Viru coming down at 6 scored century plus playing for Delhi in his early days.I was wanting to see that explosive batsman and thank heavens he was selected to play for India you could watch him play. You like him instantly for sheer audacity dispatching the ball to the boundary. His stay at the crease was compelling and unadulterated entertainment and off course pure joy .And it is much more it is ecstasy and despair when he gets out with a reckless shot making him human.
Before India arrived at S .A for world cup in 2003 India toured New Zealand he scored heroic century when other batsman crumbled.Reminded me lone ranger

SEHWAG GAVE ECSTACY AND AGONY TO INDIAN FAN AS NONE OTHER
by damodaran mohan on Oct 21, 2015 06:04 PM

If Sehwag the batsman is to be described in one word then it has to be the word EXPLOSIVE. No wonder he gave to the Indian fan the greatest of Ecstasy and agony of all times. Undoubtedly he was the best ATTACKING opening batsman for India ever with highest strike rate. The major difference between Sehwag and Gavskar another all time great opener were the stark contrast in technique. While Gavaskar was the typical orthodox copy book cricketer collecting most of his runs in the V, Sehwag's techniques were simply atrocious--see and hit all round the field. Sehwag could hit the ball with reflexes at lightning speed the way Bruce lee would strike his opponent and so he did not need any cricketing technique. I think Sehwag was the only player other than Viv Richards who would play Test innings like shorter version games. The Indian 'fab four' had so good time in the field only because Sehwag was the opener. India might produce another run machine like Sachin Tendulkar but doubtful if another Sehwag will ever be there.

THANK YOU SEWAG
by vivian richards on Oct 21, 2015 03:14 PM

Virendra Sehwag was one of the most dynamic opening batsmen in world cricket. It was sheer pleasure watching him on his day. I saw glimse of Gordon Greenidge and Vivian Richards in some of the shots he played. We will miss you Viru. Enjoy Life as you enjoyed batting.

no body can match the intensity of sehwag.. he will be remembered as the best opener & batsman indian team has ever had
PS : he played for the team and not for the records and that's why he was an all time favourite
