Moral of the story for cricket experts ? Be careful before you write off publicly guys like Dhoni. You may have to eat your words and that precisely what Azar,Ajit Agarkar and others have to do now. Dhoni says ‘…people are waiting with swords for you to make mistake ...’ .and one wonders if he deliberately creates such situation to have a last laugh. Captain cool is back and how in the shorter format ? Somewhat diffident and indifferent looking Kohli will now be forced to fall in line and give his best at least for couple of yrs. Is there any doubt that Dhoni’s indifferent form with bat to some extent was making the ‘stars’ in the side to be reluctant ‘followers’ to be led by him ? The sudden spurt in run outs seen during this SA series so far basically is a reflection of that mindset. With Dhoni now taking complete control with his stellar performance while the ‘run outs’ are sure to be cut out but team is also expected to bind better and give improved performance. At least Kohli's ambition of an immediate take over in all formats will have to wait for couple of yrs. But who knows how things pan out by then because even others could become contenders depending upon performances ! Eat back your word about Kohli. His 3 catches were critical. He could have dropped it to lose, but he is not afixer.
