Lack of Team Spirit
by jitendra pradhan on Oct 12, 2015 06:29 PM  | Hide replies

I have never seen such a irresponsible caption.
He should be kicked to the corner where players like pravakar and Azarahruddin has sent. I smell some fixing in yester days match.

Hypocrisy at its best

He seems to have convinently forgotten that undue credit has been given by his fans innumerable times, but now tries to sound so noble about accepting blames.

Dhoni should retire
by Kunal Sales on Oct 12, 2015 01:43 PM

cricket is the game of energy, Experience and talent. Every Player has rise and Fall. all veterans can make one team and play as seniors. If Dhoni was not called when he debut his first match we couldn\'t get such a big talent like Dhoni. So Dhoni must understand and realise his own experience and give way to new talents that will excel the cricket in India

MS DHONI

There is no doubt that MSD is the best finisher and captain in ODIs and has done his best for India which no other captain has done. But since quite some time, he is not able to do so. In yesterday match, his some decisions were wrong, to send Rahane ahead of Kohli and coming himself ahead of Raina, playing with Binny instead of Rayudu (who can bowl well), which cost the match and could have been won easily.

Dhoni is passe
by amar saraswat on Oct 12, 2015 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

MS Dhoni has been consistently underperforming as a captain. After losing six consecutive test series abroad and that too by huge margins he finally resigned from captaincy. On the other hand Australias captin resigned after winning the world cup and losing 3-2 against England. Why do we love to cling on ? Dhonis achievemnt was winning the cup in 2011 in India. We are always firm favs in India. Look at 1987 , 1996 where we were firm favourites. The world cup win in 83 in England and 1984 in Australia remains the best wins. In a game played with some competitiveness in only 8 countries . Out of which hardly 4 or 5 are good enough. Reaching the semis in 2014 is nothing to feel proud of. Like sehwag, Gautam, Yuvraj its time for Dhoni to retire. He has been a poor captain all throuh but also a good batsman. He is losing his touch as a batsman as well. He may remain in the side as a batsman but no longer as a captain.
Ganguly, Azhar, Kapil were much better captains.

It was Mahi who advocated Young India during his captaincy. Now will he apply the same rule for same??

when Dhoni was captain, and Ganguly went out of form, he was made 12th man to bring water on the ground. Shouldn't the same treatment be given to Dhoni?

there is no comparison to Kapil. He made us believe that we can win too outside India. under his captaincy India piled up unthinkable till then, world cup,Rothman's cup, hero cup, asia cup, australasia cup.

Stuar Binny,son of Roger Binny
by venkatram vishwanath on Oct 12, 2015 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

The selection of stuart is strange as he is neither a stock bowler or useful batsman,he gets into the side purely on his birth certificate and Sunil Gavaskar's strange support. He needs to be shown the door!

It is a pity really and very shameful indeed that even though it is a known fact hat India is a cricket mad nation, other sports too need to be given due mileage, and it is pathetic on the part of Rediffmail too that the dbut (and very impressive) victory of boxer Vijender Singh as a professional has not been covered.

MSD

Don't blaMSD for everything, it is bowlers who threw away everything in last 5 overs of proteas batting. Perhaps only REAL blame of MSD can be that he doesn't choose right bowlers for palying XI. I wonder where Muhammad Shami is, he could have made a lot of difference. And last but not least, stuart bunny (binny) doesn't look talented enough for ODI.

I agree with your view that MSD need not be blamed for anything & everything. Shami is injured and is going through rehabilitation. Last 5 overs of the Proteas' innings got them 65 runs. India's bowling in the death overs should improve. Even in test matches, they are struggling to wind up the tail order. Is it a psychological issue or fatigue issue? Or, casual approach during the end? Better this be looked into.
