Just one question to Dhoni - If Rahane who is the most consistent batsman in the Indian batting line up is kept out by Dhoni for some bizarre and inexplicable reasons, which are best known to Dhoni, then what out-of-form people like Mohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu are doing in the team? Are all of them personal caretakers of Dhoni? Dhoni is behaving like a dictator and taking some weird and nonsense decisions nowadays including team selection, strange and unexplained bowling changes, field placing's, unnecessary and too many changes in the batting order all these things were luckily worked for him in some games but now they are proving a disaster for Indian cricket. It's time for selectors to introspect about Dhoni's inclusion in the team rather than Rahane's.
Mr dhoni has lost his mind . Indian team needs runs on board whether they come from number 3 or number 5/6 does not matter and nobody is as consistant as ajinkya and kohli in the team to score runs. even if rahane scores slowly at least he scores in most of the matches than failing like dhonis most liked players like ravindra jadeja and others. even rohit and shikar are not consistant enough.
Np wonder people are losing interest in competitive cricket. Playing dogs in doctored pitches and spoiling careers of people is how shameless people work. Waiting for his fanboys to defend the obvious victory on subcontinental dustbowls.

My friend right now in the odi format he has done better than kohli this year. Remember that kohli hasnt scored even a fifty after the century against pakistan in the wc. So dhoni is in better form than kohli is right now and its not possible to drop kohli bcoz he is good player. And the case of rahane ,he cant bat at the middle order eitheir rohit or dhawan needs to go. And regarding his age i think he still runs faster than anyne b/w the wickets than anyone else and his keeping is still good.

So as Himamshu said above, Dhoni is making Rahane as the scapegoat. Right Guptaji?

Fine remove kohi or rohit or dhawan from the team then again some great person will come and say no now dhawan or rohit or kohli are made scapegoats. And btw sir have you seen rahane's avg in odi format?

Does Rahane even have a fixed batting position to be settled and score runs? I feel people should be selected on their recent performances and not based on what some great person says. Does the team or selection panel worry about what some great person says?

i didnt bring the statment made by sunil gavaskar on rahane in my comment. but anyways i am not saying rahane doesnt deserve to be there in the team but u gotta admit he plays best when he plays at top 3 which is now occupied by rohit, dhawan, kohli. so u gotta think about the team selection committe as well what they go through for selecting a team they cant ask dhawan or rohit to be dropped and give rahane the chance bcoz lets face it dhawan and rohit both are playing well. But it was good to see rahane play today at no.3 position thats quite idle for him and also i think todays team batting order was perfect what do you think?
Dhoni r u fit to be the captain with so many lose? Push ur self to 7, Rahane and Rohit can open, Dhawan at 3, virat at 4, Raina at 5, Rayudu 6 and u 7. We will good depth in batting, bolwers Aswin, Amit Mishra, Umesh and Mohit. This will be the best combination. Don't forget Rayudu, Raina, virat can share 10 overs.
