Sachin Tendulkar wearing uniform of Group Captain (full Colonel)> It takes nearly 20 to 25 years to get this coveted post,besides serving in all four corners of India. What message he wishes and want to convey to citizens of India, Sachin himself is clueless.
Even retired officer (although allowed) feel shy and often avoid going in uniform to their serving Iaf or any Air force bases..
Look at this cricketer.....Maybe this must stopped and they must be given maximum of equivalent in Army/IAF/ Navy of Major/Squadron Leader/Lt Cdr respectively. This is the best tribute to this glorified idols

Unfortunately for you, they are happy with Dhoni and Sachin rather than G Ramani Iyer.
It is an insult to those who slog & risk their life to get decorated by defense forces.It does no good to the image of forces when such ranks are assigned to celebrities who are in money raking sports.

Very True. At least three things , this nation should not have given and he should also not have accepted. (1) Bharat Ratna (2) Group Captain -IAF and (3) Membership of RS. What is his contribution to RS and IAF. I also wonder the way the officers crave to seat with him.
