There's a lot of hype about Shashank Manohar being a man of integrity. But is he really so ? After all, problems with the IPL started during his previous tenure as the BCCI President viz :
1. Conflict of Interest - Manohar was in charge (along with Lalit Modi) when Srinivasan bought the CSK franchise. He waxes eloquent about Srinivasan's misdeeds, but why did he let the BCCI rules to be amended and allow Srinivasan to buy CSK in the first place ?
2. Rave parties and drug abuse - there was a lot of news about this, but it was all brushed under the carpet.
3. Cheerleader fiasco - a South African cheerleader complained about a player making advances at her, instead of probing and taking action against the player, she was quietly sent back home.
4. Just a couple of weeks ago, there was news about his being in touch with Modi in 2013, but it was brushed aside.
Like Namo, Mano has made some big announcements. Will real action take place ? Don't bet on it.
