Same is the case with Raina, Dhoni, Jadeja, Rohit Sharma. They all are out of form in IPL and in the world cup also, but are still playing so why not give youngsters some opportunities at least against weak opposition like Bangladesh? If we are not giving them opportunities against Bangladesh then how they will get international experience ? Are we going to play them directly against Australia or South Africa or England? or Are we going to wait till these big shots are going to retire ?or wait till these players are in their 30\'s. Why we don\'t follow rotational policy? If not IPL players then select players who had performed well at domestic level in Ranji, Irani, Dulip trophy etc. If Dhoni keep out players like Gambhir, Yuvraj in the name of non performance then what about Jadeja, Raina, Rohit Sharma? Rohit Sharma is the most overrated cricketer, all senior players are saying he is having talent but how many games he had won for India? How many times he had chased down a total ? He only plays when batting first and when opposition is weak and that also in 1 or 2 games in the series. What is the use of talent, technique or class? if it is not consistent?

I do not agree that Rohit only scores against week opposition. His two double centuries came against formidable opposition like Australia and Sri Lanka. His batting position in the team is frequently changed and due to this his performance had affected. Even in IPL he erred as captain by not opening for his side. Bringing back Gambhir and Yuvraj does not look sound as both players are becoming old and worn out. We have younger players like Manish Pande, Karun Nair, Deepak Hooda, Surya Yadav, Axar Patel are waiting for more opportunities.

Rohit can not open innings in IPL or domestic cricket because he lacks skills and same person is opening against International Teams how can you justify this......gets your facts right but all those have come in Indian conditions that does not merit place blocking Genuine Opener Rahane (due to Dhoni's clout)-

Idiot NayakNaalaayak, Lanka was a formidable opposition in Indian soil? And what was the result of that series? It definitely shows how formidable Lanka was.

If they are planning to get Rohit sharma as captain...I guess that will be disaster in itself. He is an Indian ground/minnows players...he has not performed very big...As far as Dhoni is concerned...he doesn't need to prove anybody anything...what else is the country expecting from him...they are happy with the way he performed...yes form is a concern of late, but it doesn't make a big difference of late with the team winning.

Dhoni had his time under the sun and its time to move on -- Have a succession planning. I dont think "saying that achhe din is over" has any meaning. He had so many acchhe din that his whole life is acche now. Remember! he is India's richest sportsman. Even master blaster is way behind.

Its hard to imagine that he would be in the next world cup. Succession planning is the need of the hour.

Dhoni should not do what 'DADA'did
by tejas on May 21, 2015 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

No doubt that Dhoni is the most successful indian captain till date, but what he is doing with Jadeja is what Ganguly did when he was captaining india, Ganguly always kept his favourite bunch of players in the team despite their poor form and didn't select the talented players, Dhoni should avoid that. Jadeja had been given lot of opportunities thanks to Dhoni and Srinivasan, its time to kick him out and give chance to fresh talents like Shreyas Iyer, Negi, Samson, Hooda, Chahal, Suryakumar Yadav, Manoj Tiwari, Saha, Mandeep etc.etc.

Most of Ur talented list of players are not in right frame as u selected them from couple of IPL match performance. Let them perform consistently...

Eg: Saha scored 100 in last year IPL final and this year he scored 100 in all 14 matches :)
