There was a veterans world cup of cricket happened in 1994-95 in India and West Indies won that tournament beating India by 9 wickets in the final held in Mumbai at Brabourne Stadium. That was the only time one I could able to see the Greatness of Greame Pollock, Barry Richards and Clive Rice in TV. I saw the final in the stadium and every inch was filled with spectators. So, this may also become a hit.

I do remember about this Veteran's WC held those days. But today's mindset is different. The spectators want instant cricket and fast paced cricket. May be, this is the reason why they are proposing the event in USA where the expats would like to see their old time heroes somehow or the other, leaving cricket aside.
The event may succeed but may not succeed on a regular basis.

They may be Greats, but they all are way past their prime. With due respect, how many times would one pay to watch under-performing oldies? May be once, for old times sake... One can't ensure repeat audiences in an oldies league.
