YOUNG I/SIDE STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BEAT AUS IN AUS
by damodaran mohan on Mar 28, 2015 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

After the dismal Test and tri-series the turnaround of the Indian side in the WC was indeed remarkable raising expectations of fans retaining the WC reason why more than the loss the way India lost hurt us more. But Aus played better cricket and handled pressure better although their performance in the group stages and even against Pakistan did not inspire that much confidence .However Aussies were able to raise their game to beat the Indians comprehensively. Steve Smith expectedly proved simply too hot with Dhoni’s every bowling moves failing to dislodge him. Johnson who looked in indifferent form in the earlier matches looked completely pumped up both with bat and ball to give his side that decisive edge. On the other hand with the loss of toss Dhoni & co. seemed to have been pushed on the defensive and some of the bowling changes reflected the mindset. Pacers too couldn’t reproduce their recent form on the day. Although Ashwin bowled well but the Jadeja ‘hole’ could not be filled up. It was evident Dhoni paid the price finally for his indiscreet decision against a tough side like Aus ? The pressure build up showed in the batting with likes of Virat, Shikhar,Rohit etc. failing to apply themselves adequately. On a fateful day when most of his moves didn’t work there was little Dhoni could do and it happens at times in sport. He tried his best but fact remains that this Indian side is still not good enough to beat Aus in A

(contd.)..Aus in Aus .There is no shame in losing to the best side and all credit to the young Indian side for the spirited WC campaign.

Being in the easier pool, India was not really tested in this WC till the semis except may be against the Proteas. The two best teams in this tournament (who were also in the tougher group) deservedly reached the finals. Anyway,
no one thought India would reach this far in this WC, considering their performance
in the tri series..In that respect it was a creditable show upto the semi finals. We also have to acknowledge that the Australia is the better team in all aspects of the game Better luck next time India! Let the best team win the Wc2015!

DHONI - the LION hearted
by Desiraju Rao on Mar 27, 2015 01:43 PM  | Hide replies

Absolutely correct conclusion: Dhoni deserved mates who were not beaten in the mind before they were beaten on the field. If we had two more Dhoni's in the team these last ten years we would have the best team in the world. I felt more for Dhoni..the guy does not know what it means to be defeated. The guy deserves the title: DHONI- the LION hearted

they have 3 all rounders in maxwell, faulkner, watson.
india have none.
look at their bowling, strac is winner in any surface. india have none.
so there is no comparison. only thing is we are emotional and want india to win.
if there 10 more matches with aus, they would win all.

While country suffers a humiliating defeat, we miss the guts and champion Yuvraj for his champions knock with guts and determination to handle pressure situation in such big matches.
Rightly Dhoni is paid for its deeds.

Australia is a better team
by on Mar 27, 2015 10:03 AM  | Hide replies

Australia is a much better team than India and it was the media which hyped the chance of India.India at present do not have any classy player except M S Dhoni who was the only person to show some character. The team was on a winning streak only because they were not put into a challenging situation. As soon as the challenge came, they collapsed like a pack of cards.Virat Kohli is a hyped figure. He is at best a mediocre batsman and we can find many of these types of batsman in Ranji Trophy in the last 20 years.

At least Dhoni was the only player who fought till the end.Worthless guys like Virat Kohli, Suresh raina submitted meekly.
