It must act as a good lesson learnt both for the aggressive Indian supporters all over the world and the media not to hype beyond a point. Let us hope at least after this hyped bubble burst TV news channels will learn to cover such sporting events limited to the sporting contents devoid of unnecessary hype ,exaggerated fans frenzy..24x7 footages and visuals “……sea of blues..away game for Aus …” and all such rubbishes. Winning and losing is part of any sport and the fans should learn to have a balanced view w/o resorting to the extremes making the disappointments of a lost game too difficult to bear or accept. After the dismal Test and tri-series the turnaround of the Indian side in the WC was indeed remarkable raising expectations of fans retaining the WC. Perhaps that is the reason why more than the loss the way India lost hurt us more. But we must accept that Aus played better cricket and handled pressure better. Yes likes of Virat,Shikhar,Rohit etc. were expected to apply themselves better but wilted under pressure of big total. Pacers too couldn’t reproduce their recent form on the day. When most of his moves didn’t work on the fateful day there was little Dhoni could do and it happens in sport. He tried his best. There is no shame in losing to the best side and all credit to the young Indian side for the spirited WC campaign.
Smartest captain? Shame for playing a slow game when the situation demanded runs. Because of his slow game, others were forced to accelerate and hence lost their wickets. Very smart because he used the other batsmen for his advantage. His daags (call them fans) will be roaming around the streets all night barking on other players. India won over Zimbabwe all fools were head over heels praising his captaincy. What happened now?

He (the captain) not played slow but played with responsibility and sensibly. As he came 4th down and no batsman was there to face Ausi's Bolers after 5th down. He and Rahane taken singles and given India score of 233. Otherwise difference was much more.

And your brilliant observation today ensured India plays NZ at MCG on Sunday. I recollect India beating Aus on many occasions not just one off BD beat India types.

Matches were not fixed, but itinerary was definitely made favorable. Luck was heavily with India in the group stages [Philander injured himself, ABD gets run out, Pak have the weakest team in their history] and lastly, England got knocked out by Bangladesh. England thrashed India in the tri-series and would have certainly reached the semis.
