Billed to be the likely close and best Qtr final of 2015 WC it turned out to be a damp squib! It was a real anticlimax the way the Slans collapsed under pressure. The match was virtually over in the early overs of PP with the Proteas pacers bowling their best tight spell of the WC stifling the Slans completely.Thereafter I*mran Tahir and then Duminy completed the last rites. It was very disappointing considering that a lot was expected from the blue brigade the way they played in the group stages. This clearly shows pressure of ko stages are are entirely different and a stage of survival of the fittest. It should be a good learning curve for rest of the sides in the coming 3 Qtrs.

Yes, it was a real anti-climax. In fact, when Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat on traditionally spin friendly Sydney wicket, things looked gloomy for South Africa. But credit should go to South African pacers the way they bowled first ten overs. In fact, Sri Lanka never recovered from 4 for 2. The early setback made Sri Lanka over cautious and their inning never picked up.
