Don't know if he is the best, but the greatest century so far is by KAPIL DEV against ZIMB. in 1983, India were 18/5 or so, pitch was doing a lot, then KAPIL took it, single handedly destroyed opponents, I was in school that time, still remember.
KAPIL, IMRAN, BOTHAM and HADLEY..what great players they were....really

Sangarkara may be considered the best in the world cup. Unlike indians who are pampered and worshipped there is nothing like this in Srilanka. they have to literally toil to make it big inspite of being small in size with the other countries. They have limited option of players unlike india and pakistan. No indian batsmen or bowlers tops in the tournamnent

He is the best.... the whole teams fortunes centered around Sanga & Mahela for the last decade. Mahela is no longer a threat! By any standards, Sangha is the best. Even his test averages hovers above 56!!!!
He did remarkably well both with bat and keeping with dual role. He deserves lot of appreciation as he stands out among many competitors wicketkeeper batsmen
Who says he has only played good in Srilankan conditions, he has scored more than 2000 runs in Australia also which only other two greats like Richards and Haynes did...not even our very Sachin could do that...

no doubt india is a fav hitting spot for the aussies, south africans and may be even lankans ! Sanga is in the league of geniuses .. right now he seems unstoppable!
No denying that he is a good player and in good form , he may have ,certainly, received some help from new rule of field restrictions . One can easily see that 300 has become average score now , whereas earlier it was suppossed to be very high .

Agree with you, I also think performances in this WC shouldn't be considered to measure greatness as there are too minnows playing..
Yet Sanga is a good batsman.. Iam not sure if he can be taken in Greats.. as it is also about dominance over world class bowling attacks, whem made Viv, SRT, Lara placed in higher level...

Agree with you, I also think performances in this WC shouldn't be considered entirely to measure greatness as there are too minnows playing..
Its also time, when they play earlier in Gulf we have seen a country scoring 12 centuries in no time of them one scoring 4 consecutively but now they are seen no where..
