How many great bowlers did Richards play in hiz entire career. Not even 10 ??????
Richards was always supported by legends like Sobers, lloyd, marshall, holding, haynes, greenidse,garner, walsh and ambrose which made WI best team. Richards was poor against spin thats why he cudnt make even 1000runs on spinning tracks of India in 25 innings i.e not even 40 runs per innings. If Richards had played greatest spinners Warne and Murli, his stats wud hv not been impressive :)

Richards is not even the greatest batsman of WI. Lara is much much better than him, forget about comparision with Sachin who made runs against greatest bowlers of all time in entire world even without getting support from other batsman. Its only after late 90’s that Sachin got support from dravid, ganguly, laxman and sehvag. Till then Sachin alone used to play against teams. WC 96 and WC 2003 are the best example….

Richards played against greatest fast bowlers from 1) Oz's - Lillee, Thompson, Len Pascoe, Mcdermott, Bruce Reid, Merv Huges, etc, 2) England - Chris Old, John Snow, Mike Hendricks, Bob Willis, Ian Botham, Embury, Edmonds, underwood etc etc, 3) Nz - Richard Hadlee, Chatfield. 4) Pak - Imran Khan, Sarfaraz, Abdul Kadir, Tauseef Ahmed, Sikander Bakht etc etc, 5) India - Bedi, Prasanna, Chandrashekhar, Venkat, etc etc.
All these were Lagends, Plus the he played on uncovered pitches without Helmet with 4 bouncers per over... what more you want..

There is no much difference between Sachin and Richards as far as average, Strike rate and runs per innings concerned. The difference is how many great bowlers did they face in their career...
Richards played only against Kapil, Lillee, Hadlee, Botham and Imran. He never played against marshall, holding, garner, walsh and ambrose. He never played against worlds greatest spinners Warne, Kumble and Murli. On the other hand Sachin played against marshall, walsh, ambrose, donald, steyn, mcgrath, lee, anderson, bond, akram, akhtar, yunus, imran, warne, vettory and murli.
So obviously Sachin played greatest bowlers of all time with comfort and consistency which proves Sachin is better batsman than Richards :)

@ msdhoni, Very valid point. But ign0rent f00ls don’t understand this thing. playing furious and aggressively dsnt make anyone greatest. Sehwag and Mccullam play so aggressively but are they better than kohli, amla and devilliers? No. This is a consolation for Richards in a world of cricket where each and everything has always been dominated by LEGEND SACHIN TENDULKAR. No wonder BRADMAN himself appreciated SACHIN more than anyone else ….
In India everyone knows, If given a choice between winning and records, Sachin always chose his records.. So obviously Sachin has records, but people like Lakshan, Dravid or Richards are match winners...
There have been times, when for many years Sachin was not performing, but he was in the team.. Even after world cup win, he stayed on for records and ads money and so in the process blocked new players...

Will you please enlighten us with the fact that when for many years Sachin didnt perform and was still in team ?????
BTW what were other batsman doing whn Sachin used to score century and still team lose??? Perhaps other batsman must be playing for victory by throwing away wickets cheaply and not making runs... right ???????

@amit vyas Whn Sachin made a record 175 against Australia while chasing 351, other batsman failed to with bat miserably to make tem India win. Right?
FYI more than 2 dozen times Sachin made a century when no other batsman made even a half century. But don’t bother people lyk u dnt have that kn0wledge to understand such facts…..
I will put Dhoni and Yuvraj as at same level..Sachin great no doubt but test crickrt6 yes in Odi he could not achieve what yuvraj did..Singlehandedly one the world cup...So also Kapil Dev among7 the above names right up there..

@johar mahmood entire world knows what dhoni has been doing on fast and bouncy pitches against quality bowlers for last 10 years....
People who have seen Richards ( at his best ) & the gen next cricketers after him, can never forget the difference King Richards made to cricket & his team in particular. Stats may some thing, but i am absolutely delighted in Ricahrds being nominated the best one day batsmen/ player, bcoz there can be Richards like player, but for people like me there is only one Richards . My salutations to the great player & to the countless good moments that he has left behind as a treasure trove for future generation of players. Players who are serious of emaluating him, should watch his innings whenever they get a chance . Thank you Sir Richards.
