Sachin is right that it is indeed a step backwards to exclude the minnows in the next WC.ICC must aim to increasing popularity of cricket across the world by increasing the number of cricket playing nations.They need not emphasize on Test playing but existing Test playing nations can send their A teams to the associate nations and play more 50 overs games.This way more players can benefit financially and associate nations will be able to improve their standards too. They are unable to improve their standard as now they are playing merely WC to WC once in 4 yrs and very little cricket in between.ICC has to contribute in the expansion in number of cricket playing nations rather than confining to the routine exercises with existing cricketing nations.Nothing great about it.Cricket WC should be as big an even in the sporting world as football WC.
I do not agree with what Sachin Tendulkar has said.A 50 over ODI in WC matches puts lot of stress on the organising countries on logistics.It is a good idea to have as many countries to play cricket but 25 countries playing a WC of 50 overs will require massive administrative effort and it would be time consuming.Make T/20 as the WC basis and then you can involve as many countries as you wish.Even Olympic Games have restrictions on participating nations.

10 teams will reduce time taken to complete the world cup is the only advantage I thing basic purpose of arrangement of world cup is to promote cricket in all five continents AMERICA only Canada and west indies play AFRICA Zimbabwe kenia south Africa play AUSTRALIA is only one giant country that play ASIA india parkistan Bangladesh afganistan play 13 balcanised nations like ukrain chechnia can also afford to play if Sachin is taking some steps to visit ukrain chechnia whole south America is neglecting this funny game so also most of Europe except England Scotland Portugal can also afford to play this game why not Germany FRANCE we got so many people of indian origin all over the world unique passion for cricket must be common in DNA of all so that can be exploited to play more teams say 24 next world cup that is what SACHIN means sir?
