Worldcup without India advancing atleast till the semis is a loss making prospect for ICC. They have learned their lessons from a loss making 2007 world cup where India couldnt even qualify for the quarters. Hence you see India playing on Sundays and on pitches favoring Indian batsmen.. Not a single match in New zealand where the pitches are known for its swing and pace, till our fourth match, by when Indian team would have already qualified... Cricket is doing harm to the other sports in India instead of good!!
money rules cricket in India and how commoners flock to watch IPL matches that lead to a deterioration in standards in Indian cricket, India ought not to progress beyond the semi-finals at the world cup !
It will be all the better if India falls at the quarter final stage itself.

Nothing is remotely as important as the need for the commoner to feel that he is not being taken for a ride or being ripped off !
Hopefully, Australia or New Zealand or perhaps even South Africa will put paid to Indian hopes at the world cup in humiliating fashion !
At least then, the appetite of the Indian commoners for the IPL matches might begin to go down !

IPL is a curse, no doubt, but your wish that India get humiliated on the world stage is unethical, weird and insane.
I bet, even if India gets humiliated nothing will happen to the IPL and the greedy Bcci bosses..
IPL was actually born out of players' discontentment of inappropriate compensation to domestic as well as International players. Remember ICL being played ahead of IPL..
IPL can't be blamed for all ills plaguing Indian cricket.. BCCI is a corrupt body and it needs to be reformed for better administration and management of funds..

And who will reform the BCCI ?
The officials ?
The politicians who manage to keep it under their control always ?
The corporate parasites such as Srinivasan who are allowed by everyone to be so openly and hugely corrupt ?
Or, more realistically, should it be the common cricket fan himself ?
Unless the fans decide to boycot the IPL and even ignore the advertisements endorsed by the BCCI and the individual cricketers, can standards in Indian cricket ever approach those in professionally manages teams such as Australia ?
And when will the Indian commoner begin to ignore the IPL ?
When ?
Not unless he begins to lose some of his interest in watching cricket !
That can happen only when India is whipped to pieces on the international stage consistently until Indian fans stop falling over each other in trying to buy tickets to watch IPL matches.
