A pathetic piece. Says nothing that is not already known. The mediocre writer just goes through the scorecards of the respective teams without bringing in any interesting sidelights. A lesson on how not to write an article.
By winning wc 1983 kapil's devils had changed the course of cricket there after in sub continent in general and india in particular.each match of this wc is closed to many of cricket lovers. BRILLIANT TEAM WORK AND EFFORTS - Kapil youngest captain to win world cup till date
Nicely written article.Brings back the memories of the great day when many of us were glued to the radio at midnight & listening to the commentary...At Jamshedpur, people were on the streets, in frenzy ,uncontrolled excitement ,wild behavior and bursting of crackers till early in the morning..History was created by Kapil's Devil...Rightly said,"India had done the impossible, achieved a curious triumph and trounced the seemingly invincible World champions by 43 runs (with eight overs yet to be bowled) in the grand finale of the game’s most prestigious tournament..."
That world cup win was not rigged unlike 2011. We outplayed windies twice which was a great achievement. Nevermind, we were thrashed badly by west indies in the winter. However this victory is the greatest miracle in Indian cricket and Christopher Martin Jenkins arrogance in describing Gordon Greendige's stance as the trait of a great batsman when sandhus' peach of delivery took his off stump to the commentator's chargin will never be forgotten.

But you need to forget some of the "devils" in the current team, that cost us the Aus tour, WC 2015 and again, series in Bangladesh... such "devils" must be thrown out of the team and kept away for good of the game/nation. The reason for MSD quitting test cricket is now clear with senseless and irresponsible comments of Kohli. The politics in the team is not at all healthy for the game/nation.
