Re: Re: hi by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 15, 2015 08:14 PM frankly, when you pick 6 batsmen all of them get a good chance to contribute to the team cause....but if you take 5 bowlers it is difficult to use them optimally...some one is sure to get underbowled or under utilized... it is all very well to say taking 5 five bowlers is aggressive strategy but the downside of it is it is also very risky...if somebody like steyn johnson andersson broad even shami ishant yadav take 2-3 quick wickets the 5 batsmen strategy is going to be in big trouble... ideally the instead of five regular bowlers it will be good if one of them is allrounder...it is good if one has somebody like kallis symmongs type of bowler... also check the other test playing teams and tell me how many teams play with 5 specialist bowlers in any format? it is common only in t20 format...it is difficult to play with 5 bowlers in tests and odi format and if you check scorecards you will find only india has done that in recent times that is playing with 5 bowlers in tests or odis... rarely do any other team in the world try 5 bowler strategy even aus eng and sa dont dare to play with 5 bowlers...    Forward   |   Report abuse
