in his last 11 away tests (2 against SA 2 against nz 5 against eng and 2 against aus) dhoni played with 5 bowlers in 4 tests...

in the remaining 2 tests against aus kohli played with 4 bowlers...

Just 4 out of 11. It clearly shows how pathetic he was as a test captain..

and what about 2 out of 2 with 4 bowlers by kohli in the 2 tests in aus that dhoni was not there? does it also not show how pathetic captain that makes kohli?

Sunil supports only Dhoni who was a dismal performer in overseas condition. Could not score a single century in overseas ever..

frankly, when you pick 6 batsmen all of them get a good chance to contribute to the team cause....but if you take 5 bowlers it is difficult to use them optimally...some one is sure to get underbowled or under utilized...

it is all very well to say taking 5 five bowlers is aggressive strategy but the downside of it is it is also very risky...if somebody like steyn johnson andersson broad even shami ishant yadav take 2-3 quick wickets the 5 batsmen strategy is going to be in big trouble...

ideally the instead of five regular bowlers it will be good if one of them is allrounder...it is good if one has somebody like kallis symmongs type of bowler...

also check the other test playing teams and tell me how many teams play with 5 specialist bowlers in any format? it is common only in t20 format...it is difficult to play with 5 bowlers in tests and odi format and if you check scorecards you will find only india has done that in recent times that is playing with 5 bowlers in tests or odis...

rarely do any other team in the world try 5 bowler strategy even aus eng and sa dont dare to play with 5 bowlers...

irrespective of our differences about dhoni, for once i agree with you sunil. you cannot consider ashwin or harbhajan as all rounders. i think kohli should learn lessons the hard way.

hehehehe...i suppose i should thank you...everybody learns on the job and kohli like everybody else is also going to learn by experience....he too has to make mistakes and learn...nobody is always right and always knows the best way...even dhoni and greg chappell...i have never said that they never made mistakes or never failed...they had their share of failures and mistakes ....just like everybody else...even kirsten was not always correct and neither will be kohli...ditto about ganguly dravid kumble clarke smith and whoever else...

For attacking captaincy. Something which team India lacked under a passive retired captain who did not have the guts to do this..
