With rain playing spoilsport although team India were denied a deserving win but the truncated game was enough to throw up some interesting Bhajji-Ashwin duel and bowling in tandem. More importantly, Ashwin written off by some at Srini’s exit must be having a sigh of relief coming up with one of his best spell of spin bowling of sharp turn and bounce. Presence of Bhajji and the competition seemed to have made the difference pushing him enough to get a rare fiver too ! No wonder it has come as a pleasant surprise to himself by his own admission given that he is mostly an underachiever getting satisfied easily with little. (contd.)..The reaction in electronic media are somewhat subdued with very few experts including Dada coming out with a comprehensive views. Perhaps given the short sample size may be in the short term Bhajji could be and would be played in the forthcoming SL and SA home series. However going by his domestic and the B’desh performance he certainly doesn’t look a long time prospect for which investing in youngsters will be more advisable.
