The two most basic aspects that any fast bowler is told from early days is maintaining line and length so exemplarily demonstrated and practised by Glenn Mcgrath. The improvisations brought in by the bowler during the game are impromptu and the bowler has to create them by himself. However a thinking bowler like Zaheer khan will no doubt be a great asset to India.
Indians struggling with disastrous play is recently witnessed. It is time to put good coaches from good former cricketers like Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, etc. whoever is interested. This may improve chances for Indians !

In the limited opportunities he has got so far, Axar has done extremely well. Many others have consistently failed series after series inspite of being regulars in the side. Eg: Suresh Raina, Jadeja, Ashwin.
So why take your frustration on Axar, who is relatively a new comer and would be hungry to prove himself on the big stage.
Appoint Wasim Akram as India's chief bowling coach. He will definitely bring tangible results.. He is a paki, definately, but a nice guy and a great bowler
Re: Bring in Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram is a genius with integrity. He is better than Zaheer Khan in all respects. Zaheer Khan teaches bowlers subterfuge techniques to reduce pace and bowl at mediocre levels for ever. His coaching will not solve the pace bowling problem.
Either the author is new to cricket or stats dont matter. In the last tour of aus,Zaheer was with this same attack. Out of all the four foreign tours played recently, Zaheer played in two of them. So did he not feel like shraring his tricks of trade. In fact he too was guilty of bowling poorly. After Eng tour there was lot of fuss around having indian support staff. Now atleast give Arun some time. The best way to groom quickies is play county cricket. Where quickies can bowl long spells. In India, they just bowl to remove newness of new ball before handing over the ball to spinners.

Excellent suggestion. They are all time greats and have more integrity and competence than Zaheer Khan.

BCCI should appoint either Great Courtney Walsh or Curtly Ambrose to groom Indian Speedsters and refine the bowling department effectively.
all 3 are good and... spinners really really reaally need to learn from bhaJJi and a bit from kumble. the land of the snaKe charmers is woefully empty of spinners
whether it is Zaheer or Bharat--the coach cannot compensate for the inner strength of a player..It is job of BCCI managers to come out of their luxuries, hunt out strong well built up lads (10-12 yrs age) provide them all facilities & rigourous training for 7/10 years to convert them into real fast bowlers who can bowl @ 150 speed effortlessly, continuously, without tiring...when BCCI has so much money at their disposal,I am sure we do not have dearth of talents and capables...can BCCI take this initiative???? or our captains and coaches keep on living in false dreams???

More importantly treat bowlers on par with batsmen. Bcci of all boards seems to treat bowlers like easy fodder. Smaller grounds, flat pitches so that there are more 4s n 6s. The balance is totally skewed. Even MOM are always batsmen, even if a bowler bowls a herculean match winning spell

This where you are making a big mistake. The coach who teaches bowlers to bowl slower has major problem. pace should not be sacrificed at any cost.
