the trick is
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 18, 2015 11:15 PM

against opposition like aus, eng and SA, who are really good at playing fast bowling on bouncy tracks, we should include just two fast bowlers, bhuvi and ishant or bhuvi and shami. we can add binny in place of umesh or jadeja for umesh if he is fit.by this way, the tail looks lengthy as well as there are chance of wickets when spinners bowl. this is my team for this tri series and wc

shikhar
rohit
virat
rahane
raina
dhoni
jadeja/ binny
axar
ashwin
bhuvi
shami/ ishant

If starc could why not India
by Mike Teflon on Jan 18, 2015 11:13 PM  | Hide replies

Ishant's absence hurts, who obviously is in great form in just concluded tests, but others failed to deliver..

Bhuvi is economical but never threatening down under. Shami and Yadav were least effective. Yadav in particular does not learn and does not make use of his strong pace.

As also, Rahane and Kohli failed, while Dhawan is woefully outta sorts..

Time he is replaced with Murali Vijay..

Dhoni may retire after or before the WC
by Dancarter on Jan 18, 2015 08:50 PM

With such a blowing attack and fielding India will not qualify...so high time Dhoni plans his retirements from all forms soon either before or after the WC. Bhuvi can't ball pace but spin then why all this run up... yadav never uses his brain and another un productive blower..

Dawan is struggling and will let India down
by Dancarter on Jan 18, 2015 08:43 PM

Need to rest Dawan and replace him with murali vijay he was in good form and he should have continued into ODI... wrong decision to drop him. Oz bowlers are at good form along with the batsmen...they will be the favourite for WC too..if India does learn its mistakes soon

Very Close Match
by Viraf Chinoy on Jan 18, 2015 07:57 PM  | Hide replies

I'm surprised that all are cursing Dhawan but no one is praising Rohit. He played a very controlled innings & only Raina supported him. It is very sad that all Rohit baiters are ready to pounce / criticize him when he fails but not praise when he plays. That's Indian public & media. Dhawan has really become a liability & must be removed from the team. Hope that Virat runs into form soon in ODI's else there is a problem. Our Bowling is a real concern as Sunnybhai has been saying after every match but as long as MSD is the captain nothing will change. Lets hope for the best in the remaining ODI's of the Tri-series. All the best to Team India

What do you mean by praising ? Yes, today of course he played well but at the end of the day, India lost. So is his effort. Whatever he has done, is of no use when we lost because the efforts of others were negligible, and in fact, NORTHING WORTHY so far as bowlers are concerned. They just gave away the match to OZ by their own efforts...the bowlers were the culprits once again and they themselves scored SELF GOALS to hand india another humiliating defeat. So, when the whole nation is mourning, how do you expect anyone to praise someone .... and he also performs once in a blue moon.... today he, along with Raina performed and they will get to play at least next couple of games for sure...

useless
by sukhmeet singh on Jan 18, 2015 07:52 PM

india bowling, batting and fielding have flopped miserably.. looking back i still wonder why dhawan has been selected in WC squad when he cant bat and field properly.. apart frm his batting flopshow he missed a vital run out chance which could have pressurised aussies.. think selectors r looking at it

Dhoni & co
by wilson chandran on Jan 18, 2015 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

Why there is no adverse comments against Shikar Dhawan? When the top 3 perform better automatically remaining used to do very best and their striking rate used to be high. More comments are agst BCCI leader & CSK players. Needless to say CSK players in IPL were always leading all other teams & within top 4. Dhoni proved & world recognised as best ONE DAY captain and still. With aversion many are commenting adversely.

Bring back the old horses
by sameer pandita on Jan 18, 2015 07:34 PM  | Hide replies

Indian Team cant qualify for Quarters even with this Lot bowlers . Surprising thing is that even after repeated failures we have not tried to find any alternative .

I think the captain for the WC should be Kohli and instead of Dhoni he cant win us this Cup .Bring back the old horses Yuvraj and Sehwag rather than risking chances with Dhawan,Maratha and Ashwin they cant win us league games leave aside the WC .

This Yadav and kumar should be sacked enough chances have been given to them , sharma ,shammi and binny(if needed) should be used instead .

Remove Dhoni
by AdinGoyyale on Jan 18, 2015 07:32 PM

Useless captain who cant score runs overseas. from 185 for 3 at the end of 35 overs, the remaining batsmen could score onl 83 runs. Dhoni is the main culprit. Bring in Naman Ojha or Sanju Samson. Shikhar is also another passenger who should not be considered henceforth
