WHY DO INDIAN BOWLERS START WITH WIDE AND LOOSENERS ?
by damodaran mohan on Jan 19, 2015 04:23 PM

What a contrast it is the way Mitchell Starc and other aussie bowlers bowl and our Indian pacers bowl! While Starc bowls wicket taking deliveries in his very first one or two deliveries or even the entire first over on the other hand our Indian bowlers especially Umesh Yadav bowls wide and "looseners" as not just first couple of balls but the entire over ! As Gavaskar rightly points out because of this wayward initial deliveries our Indian bowlers bring upon themselves to come under pressure after being hit for boundaries. No wonder this way the entire bowling goes for a toss as the bowler operating from the other end too gets hit. What the hell are the coaches doing ?How is it that Indian bowling coaches are not aware of this critical negative aspect of Indian pacers ? Are Indian bowlers not sufficiently warmed up before they come to bowl in the match in the morning ? Why do they have to invariably send looseners in the first few deliveries taking away the pressure on the opposition batsmen ? Why can’t Inbdian bowlers especially Umesh Yadav bowl controlled and discilinbed line and length right from the very first ball and overs ? Can the Indian bowling coaches please clarify and ensure that at least in future it will not be repeated ?

Poor Heading
by C V Suresh Kumar on Jan 18, 2015 08:38 PM

The headline needs to be changed.. it was not because of efforts of OZ that they won, but it was due to the greatest efforts of our own MOST TALENTED BUT USELESS players' who SCORED SELF GOALS ONE AFTER ANOTHER to sending India crashing yet again. So, when we score self goals ourselves, naturally Starc or any other even street club bowlers would get 6 or 7 wickets to see our team go crashing... There is nothing new about it... so, the headlines must have been different like 'GREATEST EFFORTS BY MOST TALENTED BUT USELESS PLAYERS, WHO SCORED SELF GOALS ONE AFTER ANOTHER, sends India crashing

india's performance down under

India will loose this series 0-4 and will be out of the world cup in the second round on account of flawed team selection and wayward bowling.

No more excuses please

Well, maybe one can say this was the first ODI and our boys are finding their feet etc etc, but after 5 straight Test defeats ( UK and Aus) plus two draws, its time to show some ODI wins. Next match against Australia has to be IT and no more excuses will be heard by the fans now.
