INDIA MUST TRY TO FORCE A WIN ON A 4TH DAY TURNING TRACK
by damodaran mohan on Jan 08, 2015 05:07 PM

Yes, both the Aussies and the umpires seemed to have ben a bit generous with team India to-day with about half a dozen catches spilled and Indian batsmen getting benefit of doubt too from umpires against close calls. That the series is already settled It seems it just doesn’t matter much for the Aussies.Coming to the match situation, seems to be moving close to the same Melbourne situation with all three results possible on a 4th and 5th day likely turning track. Unfortunately India made the mistake of playing a less than 100 % fit Bhuvi and missing the 2nd spinner who could have been very useful at this stage. Series lost already and so not much to lose India should try to force a win using Ashwin and Raina on the likely turning track on the 4th day. As thngs stand Aus is likely to take a lead of about 150-170 runs with India closing round about lunch time on the 4th day. Only chance of India winning is if Ashwin can try pitch the ball well outside off-stump and try for square turners as Natah Lyon has shown the way he got Rohit Sharma clean bowled. Ashwin has to believe in himself and not be content with just 1 or 2 wickets going on to pitch on the middle and leg stump to check runs. Ashwin must aim for 5 wickets haul for a win which he is not doing remaining content with just containing job.Raina cam also pitch in and is also likely to get assistance from the surface. If India can restrict Aus to below 300 then India must try to force a win.Nothing to lose.

Well Kohli is a good payer but in my view he is not a best batsmen. If you look at every match and innings he has scored century he was dropped or given a life. Kohli is playing against the bowling attacks which are not good as old days. Even pitches are not like the pitches from past. Kohli hasn't faced a bowler like McGrath, Warne, Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Saqlian, Ambrose, Walsh. Sachin has scored centuries against a brilliant Australian team when they were really on top and had world class players. Kohli is nothing. look how he got out today he has weaknesses. He can't survive a good bowler who has good swing and pace.
