IT IS A CLEAR CASE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
by damodaran mohan on Jan 07, 2015 06:18 PM

Naturally it should not be surprising that Gavaskar who is is an integral part of the 'conflict of interest club' members shoul approve such nepotism. Gavaskar also says what a good human being the selector dad Roger Binny is ! But can that be the criteria ? Why is it then that the entire media is busy debating mainly this selection if it were fair selection. On the one hand the SC is constantly pillorying N Srinivasan on the issue of COI on the other there are umpteen number of cases of ex-cricketers beneficiaries in some form or the other as is the case of father and son duo of the Binnys.Let there be no doubt that at least there are 2-3 younger and more talented pacer all-rounders who have been overlooked. Even Mohit Sharma or Dhawal Kulkarni look more deserving. Actually Stuart Binny has made it at the cost of either in form Murali Vijay or Robin Uthappa whose exclusion could cost the team India dearly should Dhawan not fire. Main question is will Stuart Binny get to play at all going by Dhoni’s past preferences ? Supposing he becomes a tourist in the WC squad will the selection committee resign ? The selection could set a bad precedent that could become chronic selection disease if not nipped in the bud.

India wont be able to defend the title
by shivendra malik on Jan 07, 2015 02:49 PM

With this ridiculous bunch of players, I am sure there will be a new world champion this time. India cant win with these players. No yuvraj, no Sehwag, no Gambhir, no harbhajan, no zaheer so no world cup in 2015.

YUVI
by imran gerg gdfdfeget on Jan 07, 2015 01:35 PM

I strongly believe.. Yuvi will play an important role in 2015 WC... he plays well on bouncy tracks and fast pitch... he is a strong fielder and pretty good with his slow left arm delivery... where in AUS and NZ the boundaries are bigger... it would be only fair to include left arm slow bowling attack... YUVI is a match winner... the only batsmen who can give bowlers a nightmare.... please get him on board... he is a HERO...

Was hoping for yuvraj's selection. cant believe he is not in. Just want to ask selectors he was not in form prior to WC 2011 but got selected & won world cup for india. why not this time.

Strange selection. Vijay & Yuvraj should have been included.
by BALASUBRAMANIAN VISWANATHAN on Jan 07, 2015 12:31 PM  | Hide replies

I am not a big fan of Vijay. But he is the most consistent indian batsmen in Australia so far. I would have picked him ahead of Dhawan anytime. If Yuvraj is fit then he is anytime better choice than Axar Patel & Stuart Binny. Neither of them can bat anywhere close to Yuvraj. Yuvraj is a matchwinner & is showing good form in Ranji.Stuart Binny has disappointed so far.

Binny In?
by jagadish ht on Jan 07, 2015 09:16 AM  | Hide replies

This is a case of a father pushing his son into the team. Stuart Binny at best is a regional level player. Horrible selection process. Yuvraj sahould have been selected to give maturity to the team. Would be surprised if this team makes it to the semi-finals.

Stuart is fast bowler allrounder - jadeja is not fit and will not be fit upto the world cup. Jadeja is a allrounder slow bowler. Yuvraj is allrounder batsman. In Australian conditions Yuvraj and stuart need to be picked. Jadeja Ambati Rayadu shud not have been picked . Robin shud hae been 2nd WK choice

when Stuart became fast bowler all rounder? His fastest ball lands in 125km, and avg ball lands 116-118km, he is slightly faster than what Kumble was bowling.

He is a player good for nothing, we ve seen in England tour, where in seaming pitch & over cloud condition, he was struggling, then forget about Aus ( where Ind will most of her matches in WC) is high score and flat pitches, he will be hammered_if he gets an opportunity to play..
