Dhoti is made a scapegoat
by Dileep Nair on Jan 03, 2015 12:43 PM

There are ups and down in everyone's life and the same applies to criketers.Recently Dhoni was going in a bad phase and our great BCCI has taken a advantage of that, forgetting what Dhoni has contributed to Indian cricket.More over BCCI has a tendency as soon as they get a new limelight criketer they ignore the earlier one, same was the case of Ganguly, Sachin ,Dravidian to name a few.Since Kohli was gaining limelight, Dhoni was ignored and made a scapegoat, forced to retire. He could have played more cricket, but our BCCI is overconfident and they will have to repent for this,India will start loosing it's position in the game.Dhoni had single handledly saved India in so many matches, which no one could do till today, even not Sachin.Recently he was sidelined and getting no support from the team and Kohli took the advantage of that.Hope BCCI learns a lesson fro this Dhonis decision to retire, today they might be happy will definitely repent for this, after he quits from the shorter format of the game after World Cup.This drastic decision will also affect of Indias chances of retaining the World Cup, thanks to BCCI.

kohli and dhoni

both kohli and dhoni dont seem to be perfect captains, although kohli could get the benefit of handling a team just recent. a captain should be a mix of shrewd brain and assess situations when to be assertive and dominate the opposition. dhoni seems to be a master strategist but not aggressive. virat so far looked aggressive but we have not seen him exhibit the strategic trait that one would expect from a captain. we should not expect virat to come up with flying colours in sydney because he is still learning. he will know whether his aggressive rants would bring him results or not. whether virat or dhoni, a captain is only half as good as his team. lets hope non performers like shikhar, rohit, ishant and ashwin all deliver at sydney and reduce the burden of virat. all the best team india.

virat is exactly like ricky ponting in his early days as captain. ricky was also aggressive like virat expecting to win every match he captained. but ricky was successfull not because he was aggressive but because he had piles of armoury in his kitty, like mcgrath, warne, lee, hayden, gilly etc...apart from vijay and ajinkya, non one seem to perform as expected..even pujara has been a dissapointment..am sure, virat would take stock of situation and be assertive with guys like ashwin, ishant etc..

lets hope we do not lose the last test...if we do then it would mean kohli starts his longer format captaincy with a 3-0 whitewash in aus....not the best beginning.....
