If India wins against UAE, Zimbabwe, and Ireland, they will go to quarter finals. We have Dhoni, Shikhar, Rohit, and Raina to score heavily against these weak teams and also they will secure their place for the further matches. From quarter final onwards, it all depends on Kohli and Rahane. If they click, we can go to Semis. Beyond that even with luck on our side, it will be difficult given that there is not a single quality bowler in the team. This by far seems to be the weakest team we have fielded for the world cup since 1979.
The performance in the warm up game itself proves that most of our "experts" are hyping a down and out team and indulging in wishful thinking. We must be happy that we actually topped 250 against Australia today , but then what happened to our bowlers ?
Against the big guns SA, Australia and NZ, we will be in hot water. We will need a very good day indeed to beat Pak and Sri lanka.
every team fans hope their team wins but one should never ignore the reality. on current form, aus SA and NZ can make the semis without hitch. the fourth spot should be interesting. it could be any one from lankans, english, windies and india. for india, it all depends on whether we run into the big three in the quarters. if they do, then its curtains. otherwise, semblance of chance is there.
Looking at the way they are playing the warm up game, this team will be the first to return home. Sad state of affairs..both batting and bowling. We are tigers at home lambs abroad...wont be surprised if we manage to lose even this tag....A team that cant even put a good fight - what is left to say about them!
