all the consistent performances, scoring tons of runs etc would not matter when the cup actually starts. its the team which has more steel of nerves will lift the cup. apart from the windies of 70s and aus of 2000, no teams have been consistently winning the games prior to the start of the cup and during the cup. out of these only aus have shown character. the SA can claim to be consistent but are have big match jinx traditionally and suprised that they have not addressed it till now. the kiwis have shown some promise till date but they too have not been lucky though they have steel of nerves. i believe, its the underdogs lankans, pakis and indians who are sure to make the semis unless they play really badly. the first few big games for these teams will be an indicator as to whether they really are motivated to perform on the big stage. common india go...

a) Dark Horses have most of the time in Semis could not cross it
b) SA has Jinx for World Cup final
c) India Never lost to pakistan even when Pak was stronger on Paper
d) England originator of cricket never won oneday cup
and the list is endless
