There is certainly conflict of interest. Ganguly jointly owns football team with RPG. This makes him business partner of RPG. This relation shall certainly come in the way when conflict occurs in cricket. KKR (or any other team) will suffer if Pune is involved in any dispute in West Bengal. In short Cesar's wife must be above suspicions.
There may not be conflict of interest.But, I wonder how can a person be a cricket administrator,franchisee of an ISL football club,TV anchor of many programs and so on.Does he really have so much of varied interest? Or West Bengal is using his popularity far too much? I admire Ganguly for his cricketing skill and wisdom.But I consider him as an average TV anchor although he is a crowd puller.There is no dearth of good TV anchors and Ganguly's popularity should not be used so much!
Conflict of interest varies for different persons at different times. We tend to interpret to suit to our convenient. Invoke/interpret only applicable operative portion of relevant issues... Beyond suspicion.... There were so many serious charges on CSR and subsequent arrests... By the by no arrests or something in RR for similar unlawful activities... how ? ordinary people is confused.......with the conflict of interest decisions....
