Shastri and fearless cricket are 2 different words.Wondering if Shastri knows how to hold the bat or has been holding bottle while coaching.

Ravi Shastri looks like Old Monk rum :). Would love to see such fearless cricket played on Cricket 2007 rather than the ground.

What is fearless cricket?

There is a very thin line between fear-less cricket and irresponsible cricket.
Fearless cricket doesn't necessarily mean that you play bad shots and get out without analysing of the match situation.
In fact the example of fearless cricket is the partnership between Dinesh Chandimal and Thirimanne on 4th day which proved to be fatal for India.
Fearless cricket is playing attacking and counter-attacking cricket at the RIGHT TIME.
It also means sometimes in test to play defensively to preserve your wicket, to flourish the partnership and frustrate the opposition.
Fear-less cricket means, to go for the kill not allowing opposition to get away when their haif side was down.
Once Kohali and Dhawan completed their haif centuries they should have played more attacking batting to increase the run rate then that would have been called fearless cricket, instead they continued to play slow.
So, we need to understand the meaning of fearless cricket first.

True. Kohli has to learn a lot from the defeat. Batsmen did not play well.

fearless cricket?

there is a limit to cronyism and whoever is at the helm of BCCI, ravi shastri is sure to make capital out it - the highest paid cricket coach. during his days, did he play fearless cricket? in that case, he was a fearless bore, defending to put everyone to sleep. could ravi be fearless and take a stance against corruption? against N Srinivasan? when it comes to his bank account, ravi was fearless in maintaining omerta (mafia code of silence), and never took a stance, just like his mentor Sunil Gavaskar

ravi's riches grew as he launched himself fearlessly behind the microphone, in the commentator's box. a man of little cricketing lore, and a vocabulary of a page or less - he came up with fearless shastrisms - that ball was hit like a tracer bullet, that's what the doctor ordered, all three results are possible - and more

it was a fearless decision (cronyism agqain) to get stuart binny (son of ravi's team-mate and selector roger binny ) to join the indian team a the expense of an opener. it was a fearless move to have harbhajan singh in the first test

so when ravi speaks of fearless cricket it sounds like a joke, he simply lacks the pedigree or the cricketing knowledge to take this team to the next level.
