Limited Overs ....
by SUBRAMANIAM IYER on Apr 11, 2015 12:29 PM  | Hide replies

If there is a restriction on Bowlers bowling 10 overs then batsmen should also be allowed to face maximum 60 deliveries in a one day match. If batsman can enjoy unlimited stay on the wicket then there should not be any restriction on bowlers bowling only 10 overs

Bravo Shane Warne- u said it.

I fully agree with Warne's suggestions. If the world body listen to his suggestions, cricketers and cricket fans will definitely see a real top class contest. Whats more interesting that real quality players will succeed unlike some of the sloggers (because of short boundaries) as is the case at present.

removing 10 over limit not the greatest idea
by siddhartha xx on Apr 10, 2015 11:33 AM  | Hide replies

10 over limit forces the teams to balance resources between batsmen and bowlers else teams will start going in with 3 bowlers and 8 batsmen. It makes the all rounders job important as 5 bowlers are needed to bowl the 50 overs. Further this will favor spinners who can bowl 25 overs on the trot. So on spinning wickets in asia all u need to do is bowl a spinner at either end.

I do not agree on bowlers, we need the cricket to play with variety. Some one can extend the suggestion - let\'s allow a bowler to bowl from either end continuously, so only one \'superbowler\' (courtesy superman) is required.

People will come with such things when they feel they are out from media and cricket. Very sad.

I agree to remove the field restriction and it should be like in the older way, when we started with 50 over one dayers.

The batsmen are nowadays wants to have one skill - to slog and clear boundary. This is spoiling cricket. I still feel test cricket need to be played (can with different levels - A teams, B teams) for every one - either before joining a national team or after joining. This will bring lot of long lasting talented cricketers and will be good for the game\'s future.

having a 10 over limit also allows teams to strategise by targetting one bowler and playing out a better bowler...Further teams with one star bowler and rest mediocre bowlers will all of a sudden start doing well with this rule.

Scrap 10 overs rule and fielding restrictions from ODI
by Gautam Thakur on Apr 10, 2015 11:31 AM

Totally Agree with Shane Warne for making the game more enjoyable and even.Should be implemented immediately . Truly a genius of the game with creative ideas.

Would like to add three more suggestions -

(a) The fielders should be allowed to use one leather glove in the palm (like they do for baseball and
(b)The restriction of one bouncer should be changed to two.
(c)The rule that "wide" be declared if a bowler bowls a ball which passes the batsmen stumps on the legside should be amended to
"if a bowler bowls a ball outside the area bound by stumps on the legside, and if the same passes the batsmen's stumps on the legside then wide should be declared

Can be given a try on experimental basis. If it is good for the betterment of limited overs cricket.
