Not right to say he played for Money (unless u play IPL or represent India team, money is not that high).. He had all the right to switch sides to make in to team India.. same was done by Praveen Amre.

I pity this cricketer

I read that he was padded up as the next batsman when Sachin and Kambli were involved in that 500 plus record partnership in a school match. After that, Sachin played for 24 years for India whereas Amol could never play for India.

Waste of talent. Even when top 5 were injured he never got a chance whereas useless players like Ajay Sharma, dinesh Mongia etc were playing for India.

Even in the career rat-race, a similar plight befalls 'most' contenders. Unfortunately, everyone needs to market oneself, no matter what the level of brilliance or talent one might be possessing. Either that or you perform 'something' special at a place where your contribution matters the most with the maximum pairs of eyes watching that contribution unfold.

LUCK

When people say luck plays no role in one's destiny, and it is all sheer hardwork that decides who you become..i feel like laughing. As someone who has suffered from No luck and having to put 10 times the hard work for getting anything that many get without efforts, i can understand the importance of luck in one's life. blame it on your birth stars for not getting your due mate..

We used to hear about Amol Majumdar as the next big thing in indian cricket but unfortunately he never got the break that likes of Rohit Sharma and all enjoyed.

Dear Mr Bhat,

Exactly, you echoed my sentiments. We use to hear him, next big talent. He was even interviewed, once during match saying, next big thing. I still have that vividly etched in my memory. I was surprise to see the headling, he has retired and even more surprised, he was all of 39yrs. Sad to see, that he never arrived.
