Certain rules need a re-think....

If a batsman is allowed to use his feet, pad or his bat to stop a ball from rolling onto the stumps after he has played his shot, then why not his hand? The rule seems a little silly, doesn’t it?

Another rule about ‘the foot or the bat touching the ground’ when trying to save oneself from getting run out or stumped. In certain cases one can clearly see the foot or the bat more than half a meter behind the line, but just because the foot or the bat is in the air, the batsmen are given out! ‘Touching the ground or not could be a good rule in marginal cases when the foot or the bat is just above the line, but when the foot and the bat is clearly a meter behind!

Certainly these rules need to be changed.

Technically when a batsman attempts to face the ball , he can do so using his bat, pad and feet.
So in this adherence if he feels after playing the delivery he is still in trouble he can use the same feet bat and pad to keep the ball away from stumps.

But the batsmen is not allowed to uae hands in the first place when he is playing the ball and then when he is protecting his stumps

When its gloved the ball will become automatically dead or the runs will be extra that is "bye" depending on the nature of the shot.

The gloved hand should be in contact with the bat when the batsman is given runs or ruled out

When the ball is gloved the gloved hand has to be in contact with the bat for the umpire to give runs or declare the batsman as out.

Other scenarios where the ball is gloved without contact with bat then the ball is called a dead ball
