In this context it will be right to mention Bapu Nathkarni , who played an important role in adding beauty to Indian Cricket. His 32 overs, 29 madens, 3 runs and 3 wkts in bowling and 52 not out in the 1st innings ans 122 in 2nd innings in a test at Kanpur which helped to draw after following on againstEngland is note worthy. He is a great cricketer. i admirehim so do so many people.Similary Vijay Manjrekar too was a great cricketer. In spite of he scoring a ton against Newzeland he was ousted from the team for slow scoring. They r people who inspired the present generations.

Great article and golden words by Rahul Dravid. A through gentleman who would never want to hurt anyone's feelings. Yes today club cricket dominates the Indian cricket scenario. G.R.Vishwanath , Rahul Dravid were certainly gentlemen cricketers , but sadly today cricket itself is no more a gentleman's game. Winning at any cost matters most.Test cricket has been sadly side lined and a cricketer whose life span is indeed limited is forced to take decisions and shorten his Test career only to continue playing the shorter version which has now come to stay. Yes the great Dileep Sardesai who scored epic 212 in 1971 against the Windies has rightly pointed out that a Batsman with a good technique can play in any format of the game .This was proved by Rahul Dravid who outshone in every format . Infact it was Dileep Sardesai's guiding ways that helped Sunil Gavaskar to score his runs so fluently against the formidable West Indies in 1971. His fighting qualities came to the fore in this series and Indian Cricket had indeed turn around the bend and headed for greater glories. Yes we feel that the best is yet to come in Indian Cricket and we await to see the future stories .
