We Indians r ridiculous. When team performs credit is not given to coach then why blame coach for non performance. All d experts on tv channels r ready to criticize d coach for wins n loses both.Actually our cricket is too politicised, players arrogant n nobody can run it without hiccups. Our ex players r holy cows n they can never coach however good they r. At least by hiring overseas coaches one can blame him if d team does not perform.the indian heavy weight players will fall from grace if team loses which is bound to happen because of d way cricket is run n players behave.Test cricket !Forget it. Play IPL !

Re: Coaching Indian Cricket Team

Duncan Fletcher dos not deserve any credit. He has not done anything for several years as the Indian coach.
Can Shastri and Vensarkar nurture spinners who can bowl on overseas conditions? Can Shastri and Vengsarkar nurture fast bowlers who can bowl 135 consistently through the day? Can Shastri and Vengsarkar nurture batsmen who can bat through trying conditions overseas? The answer is NO. Our domestic standards are pathetic and not producing enough talent. And the IPL is exacerbating the misery. No coach can save Team India in test matches overseas.
fletcher is having bad run.thats why he was out of england team. when someone is having such bad run...he shouldnt be hired. so its good idea to drop him...and get shastri and vengsarkar in.

Instead of focusing on coaches the players must be shaken up for non performance...Coach-whoever he may be,cannot give players "Amrit ka pyaala",they cn only guide players, going in the middle and deliver has to be done by the selected players...Time has come BCCI must view non-permormers seriously and give chance to new talent..those failing continuously must be sent to school of basics..Truely speaking, according to my view the enormous money players started earning is the root cause of their distraction. This flaw have to be corrected.
Ravi got garland made of shoes, sandals, slippers after indian team returned from Worldcup and very soon her retired. If it is written in his fate that after every wc we play in Australia that he gets this garland then who can stop it. Ravi is neither a coach and not a opening batsmen, its better for him to focus on commentry. Vengi has no idea how to coach either.. if BCCI decides to change coach, change a proper coach who can do the job.

In the 1992 World Cup, Mohammad Azharuddin was not performing in key matches except against Australia.
Dropping Fletcher is not going to solve the problem, now that Ravi is at the helm on things, n I know ravi works he is strict in his decisions no room for complacency and at this point making any changes with the world cup just round the corner, my idea is not to make any changer at this point of time there are better pundits than us to decide and no one is going to take a free advice

Your logic in supporting Duncan Fletcher and company is flawed. You are talking like a member of Rahul Gandhi's kitchen cabinet. Even if the Nehru dynasty politicians do not perform, they must be persisted with on account of their family reputation and resemblance to Caucasians.
The Directors, The Coaches, The trainers cannot make much impact if the players are not up to mark, We in India tend to persist with the same failed players for a very long time unlike other countries, it sends a very bad signal to promising young players wanting to get into the team & longing to contribute, Inspite of having won the ODI series, new players were not tried in the last match in England resulting in many promising players returning without having got an opportunity, Naman Ojha was wasted in the test, whereas the famous one kept on failing repeatedly obviously having no fear of been dropped
Re: The players will make difference

Previous coaches have won matches and series with equally good or lower quality quality players. Why are you indirectly supporting Duncan Fletcher and his ilk even after unimaginably poor performances.
not make big difference; Standard of cricket (Test Cricket) has gone down drastically. only way to revive is by giving more importance to domestic cricket like Ranji trohpy and Duleep trophy over circus IPL.

You may be partly correct on this point. nevertheless, the useless coach needs to be fired.
