Don't call it a turn around
by B M on Sep 03, 2014 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

Test matches and ODIs are completely different classes of cricket. So, the brilliant victory in ODIs cannot cancel out the drubbing received in test matches.

We can call it "turn around" only if we manage to do well in the next overseas tour, Australia.

Yes, we all hope India wins again, but life is not that straight forward.
Victory is in the hands of lady luck.

well done !
by Dev on Sep 03, 2014 08:24 AM  | Hide replies

wow! that pasting in tests really needed something drastic to lift spirits. and they did it !
the team always seem to change bowlers and batsmen when there is problem.this is really good.
I would give high marks for being flexible and choosing right players and batting list etc
also new players being inducted at right times.
very good management.
(wish our govt also functions like Team India!)

"Do not shower praises. They lost it all when it mattered the most in Tests. Do you think a magic happened ? No. It is just players mindset where they are ready to throw the test match games as soon as possible at the cost of national shame. Does it take too much of rocket science to understand that if players are getting better money and less efforts in ODI and T20s, then why would they sweat it out in tests ? It is as simple as that. Plus this ODI series has been favored on Indian side due to losing support of viewers. The viewership of these ODI matches came heavily down and hence a plot to win the series"

West Indies @ Times Australia 4 Times Pakistan 1 time

Indians in England

Had the Indian cricks played the test matches the way they play the one dayers, the results of the tests could have been different.

The coach for the Test matches was Duncan Fletcher, while the coach for the one day matches was Ravi sastri. You can easily see the difference.

I'm just waiting to see what difference the appointment of Ravi Shastri makes when we play TEST matches down under. I do not want to jump in to any conclusions before that and find solace in our ODI wins.

Not shambolic

Good show all around....but don't crow too much...finally shown some chuzpah but they should've shown the same nerve and verve in the test series.
It could be that the hosts, having wiped the floor with them in the real contest that mattered, didn't care too much if they won or lost the ODI's,???

Good show. No doubt. But to do do it in world cup completely different. Rane dhavn rayddus. Ok but you need experience. So yuvraj sehwag either needed. Also in bowling. I think ENG were poor.rather India good. We will see against AUSSIE down under. .

Rahane can be ruined by a useless coach like Duncan Fletcher who does not teach new techniques.

Rahane can only be ruined by unwanted diversions (outside cricket). Why blame the poor coach for talent getting distracted for petty pleasures? Btb, what do u mean by new techniques? Test cricket is still about playing longer and sustained innings than any new innovations and let's leave it at that. Let's not corrupt every form of cricket with meaningless T20 tamasha as it could bring more harm than any good.
