I'd say, he shouldn't bat at all.... (or, bat at No. 12 or 13)

I'd rather say, struggling Kohli should vacate his slot and should take a break instead of trying various batting positions from 1 to 11 (or, should bat at No. 12 or 13...) Why is he treated special? Is such an allowance given to a Manoj Tiwari, Murali Vijay or Ambati Rayudu? On current form, he deserves to be dropped and not considered for the tour down under unless he proves batting form in the domestic circuit for an year or so. Let cricketing wisdom and not business houses which invested huge on cricketers dictate selection. Let Kozhi not take his place in the side for granted and deny another deserving cricketer his chance to stake his claim for the spot. he has already proved well that, class is temporary and his (poor) form is permanent.

Virat Kohli has problems getting his eye in with a new ball. Sunil Gavaskar's suggestion to obviate Kohli's problem is based on this observation. Mohinder Amarnath did not have this problem in the number 3 position in the batting order.

When did Sunil Gavaskar become an ophthalmologist? We need fit players to represent the country and not anyone with a defect. There's no dearth of talented cricketers to play at any position and if he has any defect, let him get rid of it, prove and come back. Place in Indian team isn't his birthright and we don't pay to see someone failing time and again miserably. Only performances wanted and no lame excuses please.
