commercially test matches are dead already. it was never meant for commercial success, it was for royalty to kill time. no one has patience to even watch 1 day matches also. since t20 is earning huge money, it is important that stadium entry tickets are made free or given cheaply like run like news paper or tv channels.

You will not be able to see glorified advertisements promoting junk foods and costly cosmetics and that reduce the consumption of such items.

With the Exit of Class Acts Dravids, Tendulkars,Laras, Pontings, Mcgrath,Warne,Pollock,Intrest in Cricket is Reduced, but it will come up again once it maintains it balance between different Formats
Yes if T20 happens there will be more chances to bet and fix matches. It is ridiculous on his part to say if there is no T20 test matches will die.T20 has made longevity of tests to 3-4 days as no technique is there due to the slam bang effect.Let Shastri not talk nonsense to swindle money.
His masters voice. Truly a follower of Srinivasan the ex-chairman of BCCI.If IPL is not there then BCCI doesnt make money. People are more interested in 20/20 format as people dont have time, so it is great pass time and a great money spinners for BCCI and the IPL owners, sponsors, advertising. Thats why he was made the so called director after indias failure in test series against england.
I think Mr. Shastri has lost his mental imbalance as he wants to be on the payrolls of BCCI till his last breathe.I have very little say abt the future of test/ODI or T 20 cricket as the fans/spectators will decide abt its fate. I'm shocked to read about the justification being given by by this moron abt Indian teams overseas record as compared to other test playing nations. This fool wants to conveniently suggest that if other teams cannot win overseas ,so its ok for india to get hammered in away series. And by the way,Mr. Shastri its a universal fact that u need solid bowling arsenal to win test matches home& away.Kindly put your thoughts and efforts to clean up the game and build a competitive atmosphere to identify & nurture promising players.
The t20 format will finance most cricket players at all levels. This format and its leagues will financially insulate Test cricket, while one day internationals will play only a marginal role in this respect. Ravi Sastri is a very smart individual and must take the place of "perceived good but in reality useless" Duncan Fletcher.
shastri talks rubbish.test cricket is a real cricket and people enjoy ashes played between aussies and england with packed houses.shastri is an opportunist and talks nonsense even when giving unnecessary important is attached to him and gavaskar who are boring people on tv
It is an absurd comment by Shastri. T-20 came from Test Cricket and not otherwise. The moment T-20 is closed, Test cricket will bloom. Shastri and others have got full time job of commenting on continuous t-20 and ODI's and that's why they are making statements like this.
What absolute rubbish! There used to be hundreds of spectators in front of a make-shift score board in front of the Hindu office in Mount Road, Madras, cheering and clapping every time a four went up on the board. That was in the 50s,60s and 70s.There was no television and no 'net for those enthusiasts. And that was for 5-day test. When TV came in money started pouring in and the abhorrence that is T-20 started. One of the big beneficiaries of this world of wealth, one can't expect Shastri to say anything else.
