Wishful thinking from India

In SA, England, Australia and even in Sri Lanka draws great crowds. Test Cricket is India's Waterloo except if played in India in some circumstances. So we can continue to wish away Tests. Unfortunately, Test are going to continue. Sorry India and India fans of T20 and ODIs

when i was in high school my home not equipped with radio. commentates used words to create cricket field. The rivalry between Australia and England, west Indies at zenith.Even pakistan was best team that time zaheer abbas javed burky etc.our team was almost Bombay team Umrigar tamhane contracttor spinner Nadkarni pace Dattufadakr.Later chndr shekhar prasanna bhishan sing bedi etc we enjoyed lot during those days.Jay sinha played 2 days to score 72. allthese were events we remember till to day. the only test cricket teaches skill tenacity of batsman and bowlers fielder wicket keeper hit and run doesn't help the players. and 24 hours 12 months cricket neither it attracts spectators nor good to our students and players. there were only 2 series in the year one in home land 1 out side India. Cricket needs family planning too

Remember those days India used to be nowhere. Used to change captains like changing shirts. They had some worst drubbings like the one in Eden gardens against the windies. Thankfully after Gavaskar and with Ajit Wadekar as captain India won two back to back series against windies and England on foreign soil. But that didn't mark the ascending graph of Indian cricket. There were more downs than ups specially while playing Test matches on foreign soils. If someone says Dhoni is not a good test Captain I would blame it on the players that he commands who doNot have the hang of playing test crickets. After Tendulkar Dravid Sewag Laxman Kumble and Harbhajan have yet to see any player befitting of being called a test player. Unless India takes test cricket seriously it's better not to identify themselves as a test playing country and compare who is a better captain when inconsistent performance is the name of the game and all of them were more or less more of failures rather than successes

by damodaran mohan on Oct 04, 2014 05:11 PM

What nonsensE... why blame India..? It is because of shorter version of games that Test cricket is still alive...surviving on doles out of the revenue generated from T20 cricket...but for this revenues Test cricket would have been history long time back...who has the time to sit for 5 days in these fast moving world..?.

you better be practical in life.In every country, it's only the rich are getting richer and the poor the poorer. From what you have said, it only means you lack experience in the real life scenario.

The biggest culprits are Dhoni & BCCI for test cricket woes
by pradeep agarwal on Oct 03, 2014 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

They are systematically damaging the cause of what is feeder of cricket player. One can understand the hatred Dhoni has for test cricket as it is not his cup of tea but the attitude of BCCI is baffling. They are promoting T20 a gully cricket marketed to only make money & relished by baseball hitters. It is time to change Dhoni test captain to save test cricket in India & sack Srinivas from BCCI who act in tandem.
