Nice joke
by Narayanan Mahalingam on Dec 02, 2014 11:55 AM

Calling Irfan Pathan as a fast bowler is big joke. Kumble in his prime would have been quicker than Pathan.

CONSIDER IT AS OUT IF THE BALL HITS HELMET (when on head)!
by Kabeer on Dec 01, 2014 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

Fast bowling and bouncers should be a part of the game. Bouncers should be there because it tempts the batsman to hook and thereby may get him out; but at the same time, if he misses he may get injured and may die as is the case of Phil Hughes.

Moreover, it is not a fair thing that a helmet be worn.

A Sunil Gavaskar and a Viv Richards didn't have that luxury when facing the likes of Holding and Thompsons who by far are the fastest bowlers ever recorded.

But Tendulkars, Laras and Pontings can wear them and play fearlessly even after taking a few hits on the helmets.

A batsman, while being protected for life, should also be penalised that he would be deemed out if the ball hits the helmet.

This gives the fast bowler his share of equality and also make the batsman think twice that if he misses and gets hit on the helmet would be deemed out though it saves his life.

idea is not bad, must be considered. If given out at least a reduction of 20 runs from score.

Every game has its share of risk. Such unfortunate incident happen in every sport. Can't help it. Banning is a bad idea. Improving safety measures is a good idea.

Formula 1 car racing, boxing, wrestling etc.

Bouncers to Break

I appreciate the innocence of Irfan and wish one day that he would be back in the team. Well it seems he has not watched body line, where in the body was the main target for the bowers. Australians have learn t it and now have got the taste of their own medicine.

Fast Bowling.
by Balasubramanian Swaminthaiyer on Nov 30, 2014 01:45 PM

Irfan Pathan is still my favouri9te all rounder whom a Coach initiated the diminishing part in Irfan's Cricket life by sending him to open for the country when lots of openers are available. About Irfan's comment all bowlers are as gentle as he. Look at the eyes of the pacers while bowling or after a bouncer. They feel glad about the bouncer specifically Mitchel Johnson and James Anderson. they speak venom.

Ask Gavaskar/Gaekwad

Ask Gavaskar or Gaikwad about Jamaica Test in Seventies when Holding bowled six bouncers an over round the wicket with the sole aim of hurting them.
