How safe are the helmets everyone now knows...
by salim siddiqui on Nov 28, 2014 10:49 AM  | Hide replies

RIP ,Phil.
Ex Indian Cricketer Raman lamba too died many years ago, when a ball struck him while he was fielding at short leg.It is high time when manufacturers start making high security helmets.Feel pity for the bowler unfortunately who will have this guilt the rest of his life...

Sir, this young batsman (Phil Hughes, may his soul rest in peace!) was struck below the helmet on the neck which ultimately resulted in his death. Raman Lamba was struck on the head while fielding but he was NOT wearing a helmet at that moment. So blaming helmets is not called for. However, I agree that they must be used and should be of high quality.

Cricket Administarators work on safe helmets at least now
by sanjay ranade on Nov 28, 2014 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

All cricket administrators are busy making more money by arranging more matches only. They should worry about providing fail-safe helmets to batsmen and close-in -fielders to avoid casualty like Philip Hughes

Sir, while I agree to your recommendation that more safe and high quality helmets need to be made and used in the game. However, this young batsman (Phil Hughes, may his soul rest in peace!) was struck below the helmet on the neck which ultimately resulted in his death.
