RIP

RIP Phil. Terrible thing to happen. Just thinking how brave Gavaskar was batting with a half helmet when the fiercest pace bowlers were playing. It is terrible because the cricket gear has improved leaps and bounds with the advent of technology. As in life nothing can be made perfect, even by technology.

About Hughes injury
by Sivaraman Narayanan on Nov 25, 2014 03:44 PM  | Hide replies

It is surprising to see that a batsman is hit on the head. Moreover like modern day batsman all are wearing helmets unlike before 1980. His injury is unfortunate and the bowler Abbot bowled a beamer. Anyway wishing him a speedy recovery and urge fans all over the world to pray for him.

Not a beamer. It was a proper bouncer. Hughes turned his back to the ball and it hit him just below the helmet.

If his head was strong he wouldn't be in a coma.

Headstrong does not mean his head was strong. Headstrong actually means he is strong willed.

Haha, bro, it was not strong-willed but self-willed, which means arrogant..

Undie Tiwari could be sarcastic here.. If he wasn't he is wrong too..

Btw, the content of the article made little sense to justify the usage of word "headstrong".
