are you sure?Because inadvertently Owais Shah,Badree and Binny were named and then the court directed that at this stage players name should not be released.I think another 4 to 5 players names are still to be released later.

Some time ago, few thousand dollars were taken from your cupboard. What about that case. No enquiry.. no charge sheet... Was the money earned through proper channel? Even so, it cannot be few thousand dollars. You should not act innocent, when you have also part of the dirty system.

Sunil Gavaskar spells out the truth. Everything will be clear only after the Supreme Court comes out with the verdict.
it will be better if some reputed cricketer like Gavaskar,Kumble etc.take up this position than some outside politicians or people who have never played cricket.

Oh yes, despite Sachin's selfish records, I rate Gavaskar much better than Sachin on technique and temperament.

We can understand your motive behind your comment. No Medicine for that. Somebody was saying a week before, you has very good knowledge in cricket. But your posts puts his credibility under scanner.

Don't talk bullSh!tHere.Sunil Gavaskar faced deadly fast bowlers with just a cotton cap and later on with a scull cap.Probably, you were not even born when Gavaskar played, huh.

Why don't you also mention that Sunil Gavaskar scored 36 runs after facing all of 60 overs in a match?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: in the interest of cricket
by wcpak on Nov 14, 2014 10:20 PM
Mr.Venkat, let's not talk about a one off innings. If Gavaskar scored 36 not out,at that time none of the Asian countries had any exposure to ODI except England and Australia.Still it was West Indies who won the first two cups and England are yet to win ODI World Cup.

Live? if you are referring TV, We are also watched many footage on Youtube even though it is quite unbelievable that you watched it in TV, before 1987.
If you are saying you watched Thompson, Marshal in (deadly, pacy pitches) West Indies, Aus Stadiums then I watched Bradman in live at sydney when I was 20.

watching live doesn't mean only on TV.YOu can as well buy a ticket and go to the stadium. Don't think that you are too smart to say that there was no TV coverage.

The selfish records you were referring was in the name of Gavasakar before sachin surpassed those. So those who created records is not selfish but who surpassed is Selfish. Good Theory. Grow Up Man..
Re: Re: Re: in the interest of cricket

Yes,you kid would not have seen Thomson,Marshall or ROberts. They were deadly.
Re: Re: Re: Re: in the interest of cricket
by stockstalks on Nov 14, 2014 10:46 PM
So you are saying, you were watched them playing live? 130 or 140 can be deadly in a bouncy fast and pitch if pitched it right.
Ok. Just assume they were 150 to 160. will that make gavasker not selfish? or by using helmet, sachin become selfish?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: in the interest of cricket

Your argument is rubbish.I did watch many of those live. The West Indies bowlers wereLikeDemons. The pitches were not covered and they used to be more lively. With all this, players like Gavaskar, Viswanath and Mohinder all used to face them with just a cotton cap unlike nowadays where the players get padded up all over their body.

Keep watching highlights of old matches in YouTube. That's the only way you can understand the best cricket played in those day before TV coverage came.I can't blame you if you were not born during that time.:)

Gavaskar,Kumble are reputed cricketers no doubt. But they have lost their credibility by sucking up to the powers be in the board in the past. Only Kapil, ganguly, kirmani have got credibility, so they may be considered.
Re: Re: in the interest of cricket

Mr.Venkat, don't you know that Kapil already surrendered to BCCI after the ICL fiasco? As long as politicians are Presidents anybody will surrender to them.
Re: Re: Re: in the interest of cricket
by Venkat Bhat on Nov 15, 2014 10:16 PM
It's true that ICL turned out to be a failure before the might of cash rich BCCI. Kapil had made peace with BCCI ultimately so that ICL players like Ambati Rayudu could be considered for Indian team. This was a selfless act by him and in the interest of the youngsters. Kapil has not taken up any assignments in corrupt BCCI or IPL after that. So, he has nothing to be ashamed off really and hence he is a worthy choice for BCCI president post.
