Fixed Match, but who can explain
by Raj on May 28, 2014 01:49 PM

can anybody explain me, in the start of the second inning, the commentator said, that if Mumbai want to qualify into the semis, than they have to score the target within 14.3 overs, otherwise they will not qualify, how are they now in the table on the 4th position, if they scored the target in 14.4 overs?

PLZ can anybody explain it?

RR could have gone to the finals

RR could have gone to the finals it they would have bowled the last ball wide so that there was not chance of hitting it to the boundry. but they didnot. Why? Would have been a fixed match.

FIXING IS THE ONLY answer...MI paid the bowler well for that slow pulltoss just out side the legstump..that's how it seems...may be I could be wrong..

To avoid batsman from playing the ball, ball would have to be placed far off from batman, facing a probable byes out of that ball.
There was danger of getting 4 byes 1 from wide ball = 5 runs - against 4 needed for Mumbai for getting entry in knock-outs.
Obviously the ball was bowled on body of batsman, which he knocked to six.

That Theory is wrong , It started after Commentor made that comment , Even Harsha bhogale accepted that he was wrong about that comment. Mi would have still qualified - Last bowl wide means target achived in 14.3 only !!!!
