Why are we surprised? He has used the same strategy ever since he wrested control of TNCA [technically, a Registered Society] from AC Muthiah and later BCCI in 1999, wormed his way up in the labyrinth of deception and intrigue in the Board, changing constitution to allow him to be owner of a franchise in IPL and remain in control even in defiance of SC [remember last AGM……none except IS Bindra could make feeble noises; no association could antagonize him for fear of losing Rs 60-75 Cr dole] ……. exploit “legal loop-holes”…… creates ones if none exists - an art our venerable politicians too have not mastered!

He may be nurturing a secret wish to out-do the longest serving Board Chief, honourable Mr P. Subbarayan [1938-1946]
