In racing parlance it can be said that after the final bend the IPL teams have entered the final exciting home stretch. Like horses the teams will be jostling madly for the top 'places' to be part of the play offs. This is the most exciting phase of racing when you find the jockeys & the horses, the coaches & teams in this case putting in all their energy to get that 'extra bit' of push that would take them ahead of others. Most exciting part would be as in racing when a horse in the rear suddenly picks up steam to surge ahead past one by one of all others even to the extent of just managing to ‘nose’ ahead at the final post ! MI and RCB after their last win against DD are somewhat in this rear position and a win in to-day’s match for MI against KKR will be one of the next 3-4 such wins needed to stay in the hunt. For KKR too needing to win at least 4 out of the remaining 5 matches it is a make or break match . With Gambhir and Utthappa getting into form the prospects look better now compared to what their prospects looked last week. On the other hand SRH who too have a daunting task , the prospects against top side Punjab doesn’t look all that good as Punjab are expected to come with full force after their loss against KKR where P looked a bit complacent. Most likely one among MI ,KKR and RCB in that order are likely to join the top 3 in the play offs. The race for the pole position among the top 2-3 with run rates coming into p
