welcome decision
by VIJAY ANANTHAN on Mar 27, 2014 11:01 PM

Great decision....hats off to supreme court. Ban the entire IPL and arrange some one day series in Australia/ South Africa tour . it will help young Indian team to prepare well for next world cup down under... instead of playing in flat sub continental pitches...

Funny Judiciary
by Paul Rajkumar on Mar 27, 2014 09:53 PM

Wonder how can judiciary interfere in the affairs of an independent governing body. Most absurd is ordering Sunil Gavaskar to act as interim president. Looks like the judges have either lost their way or acting at the behest of some outsider. JUST WONDER AT THE STATE OF THE JUDICIARY IN INDIA... getting rotten by the day

bcci...

If cricketers like srishant are punished for match fixing etc, bcci officials...must also be punished..with jail terms..not lessthan 10years also...as bcci is decadent and corrupt organisation..induan govt, sports mi istry should lodge a complaint to ICC..to derecognise bcci permanently, and to constitute a good organisation, without politicians, police, IAS, media reps...etc in that new organisation

In india it is impossible to be de-networked but yes SC is absolutely right in conducting a fair probe and asking Bcci boss to quit, This is for betterment of indian cricket

Time to clean the mess in BCCI
by aribam ramasanker on Mar 27, 2014 08:59 PM

It is high time for all to cooperate to cleanse the dirts in the BCCI. For the last many years BCCI has been associated with tarnishing events.Taking advantage of the SC intervention at this juncture all the cricket loving people should join hands for a better and brighter future of cricket in the country.Let's not make BCCI a muscle flexing avenue for the industrialists and politicians. If necessary the constitution of the BCCI can be replaced by a new one.Too much of everything is the cause of undesireable things.

UPA loot
..
by UPA loot on Mar 27, 2014 08:37 PM

Put him in jail like Sahara Roy if he does not step down by tomorrow morning.

Call back Dhoni if he is board member of any of Srinivasan's companies.Do not appoint Kohli or Raina captain in his absence because they are managed by Dhoni's friend/partner's trust kriti_sports,these all are of the same gang.

wrong thing
by nailesh kumar on Mar 27, 2014 07:50 PM  | Hide replies

By suggesting an individual for a job, the SC is making a mockery of its own role and position by abrogating power to itself. In fact, the nation's highest court is undermining the judicial system itself by needlessly stepping into the shoes of governance. Hope next government will rectify this issue.

Not surprised to see support for Srinivasan in this page...these people also ask for release of killers of ex-prime minister of the country. Very difficult to accept these people as reasonable. They will destroy this country.

Agree with you. Srini's bottom is permanently glued to the BCCI chair, that's why he is trying to save it at any cost. If remove forcibly he will be displayed in his birthday suit to the world.

I dont know which state u come from, but your assumption that nailesh is Tamilian is absurd. "these people", you can very well say Tamils. I do not know what kind of grudge you have against Tamils. Also release of killers...U must clear ur head. If court commutes death sentence to life imprisonment then they should follow it. Max term for life sentence in India i believe is less than 15 years in India and these convicts have been in Jail since 1992..do your math..If you do not want to follow your own judicial process then donot commute the sentence or execute them. Why keep them in jail and make them wait for their death. You can only see on ex-pm who was killed in the blast but not other 30 "these people" who died along with him. Your mind is clouded with hatred with anything and everything from TN. Don't act like a patriot. What nailesh mentioned is about the role of Supreme court as it is self defeating its purpose. He did not say save Srinivasan. He just said SC cannot recommend who to appoint after Srinivasan. If they do that means anyone and any enterprise is under the same threat from Judicial body. You cannot run business like that. Also Srinivasan in reality is not involved in betting, case for removal of Srinivasan is only for Conflict of Interest which has nothing to do with corruption.

Ranjana is expressing typical North Indian Mind Set. They do know that South Indian's are brainier and the Northies are duds.

Absolute bias. And it ranges from Srinivasan to Rajnikanth to Ashwin to Jayalalithaa to Chidambaram to almost anything Tamil. The same people who criticise release of Nalini etc don't utter a word when Sanjay Dutt is out on parole for years dancing and singing! While I don't believe South Indians are superior, at least treat them as equals. Why should Pawar or Dalmiya be allowed to continue in BCCI? WHy Lalit Modi is finding so much support even when indicted by Supreme court?

Rahul Dravid should be questioned

Rahul Dravid should be subjected to scrutiny and enquiry must be done, how can a captain claim innocence when 6 players under his watch have done match fixing openly.
