Taking up the responisbility will mean that he will become accountable..which he scared of doing..giving free advice on TV is so much more simple and rewarding and also headling catching...

I felt it as a humble reply that there many other people who can do that job very well. As far as coaching job is concerned, he needs some time and experience rather than going directly into that. There is no case of going away from taking responsibility. As advice is concerned of course the people even writing these columns including me can also give.

Most of the players are the ones he played with. Only when present batch of players go away he will do it. Flemming also refused coaching for same reasons.

Rahul Dravidi does not give free advice on TV. His cricketing abilities seen over the years are beyond doubt. If any one has any question on that should get himself checked. And yes he should charge for his coaching assignment legitimately. No free lunch is on offer. As far as accountability is concerned that's not a big issue. No one is going to hold him responsible for a dilapidated team that is reeling under terrible underperformance. Yes he has to work hard and put all efforts. If he feels he can't give that time commitment he should honestly decline and that's precisely what he has done.
Dravid your comments are quite sensible in keeping with the versatility of your batting talents. We wish you the best in your endeavors. Let it be said in all fairness you are the best person for the job of a coach of the Indian cricket team at present. You have demonstrated this with three centuries on the failed England tour. And Indian team will definitely get benefitted from your slip catching expertise which is seen as a gross weakness currently.

What truth and what guts are we talking about? Please clarify. When you are chosen in an interview but you decline the job offer where is the question of guts and truth coming in? Rahul Dravidi is honest in confessing he can't do justice to such a job because of time commitments. It's absolutely sensible. He is not a hypocrite.
